Even at three glasses a week, that's going to be a pretty expensive health "regimen" to have.

Champaign is kind of nasty. I never understood why it supposed to be a celebratory drink.

I've never understood this "moderation" thing when it comes to alcohol.

I don't think I want to drink that much

So a fifth of vodak/day should give me an eidetic memory!  Sweet!

I would rather forget, how many does that take?

Did it say anything about Smith's Taddy porter, because that might apply to me right now.

There are people I know from the past, who drink champagne now. They don't remember me at all.

Researchers say that a healthy dose of bubbly can help against brain disorders

Their definition of "healthy dose" is very different than mine.

TFA:  the source is a compound called phenolic acid, found in the black grapes, Pinot noir and Pinot meunier, both of which are used for champagne.

It not only makes you smarter, it makes you more suave and attractive to the opposite sex.

The color comes from the skins.  If you let the juice sit in the skins, the color leaches out from the skins, thereby turning the wine a red color.

Have you tried Veuve?  There are a lot of different kinds, and if you find a lot of them too sweet, you might like a drier one.

Why not just eat red grapes and drink a beer? Cheaper and more fun. I can't stand the taste of champagne.

Andre is $4.99 a bottle. TFA didn't say it had to be French and/or good.

I'm wondering what amazing health benefits 200 mL of bourbon a day bestow. Besides the good it does my conscience to help a few of my fellow Kentuckians stay employed. It's a dirty job but somebody has to do it.

It rained all night and all day and I was sober for most of it. Now it's still raining so it's time for theology: "Jesus Christ a boiler maker."

Where do you buy a barrel of the chemical itself?

Heh, I knew someone would say that (it was going to be me but I didn't get here in time).

The One True TheDavid: Andre is $4.99 a bottle. TFA didn't say it had to be French and/or good.

I think we're sharing the brain, because I like Andre (don't judge) and had the same thought.

FTFA though: The same research team said in 2009 that champagne is as good for the heart as cocoa or red wine polyphenol antioxidants.

Something tells me this research team is really just a plant by the champagne industry. They can start making this claim for real when they test all the OTHER alcoholic drinks the same way.

Good news, everyone!

You can increase the amount of phenolic acids ingested daily, by eating a balanced diet of whole grains, fruits and vegetables, or by using dietary supplements like grape seed extract.

Their definition of "healthy dose" is very different from everybody. I swear there's one of these pro-anti-alcohol "studies" a week. I think some scientists just really like getting people good and loaded.

You had me at three bottles of champagne a day.

I may have to start ordering by the case. Too drunk to go out for three more bottles tonight or tomorrow.

That's what the French say. So what? Show me where in the article they mentioned that silly "technicality," and tell me why it's of life-or-death importance that anybody agree.

So is this like when they said wine in moderation is good for you, but hide the fact that grape juice has the same properties without the negative effects of alcohol?

Well, that explains a lot. Specifically, the lyrics of this old song:

I REMEMBER IT WELLFrom "Gigi" (1958)(Lyrics : Alan Jay Lerner / Frederick Loewe)Honore (Maurice Chevalier) & Mamita (Hermione Gingold)H: We met at nineM: We met at eightH: I was on timeM: No, you were lateH: Ah, yes, I remember it wellWe dined with friendsM: We dined aloneH: A tenor sangM: A baritoneH: Ah, yes, I remember it wellThat dazzling April moon!M: There was none that nightAnd the month was JuneH: That's right. That's right.M: It warms my heart to know that youremember still the way you doH: Ah, yes, I remember it well  There's more where that came from.

Yeah, I've noticed since the redesign that Fark often eats my line breaks for some reason. Have to be really careful in preview.
