The list fails without at least one cover from a Michael Slade novel.

Damn right!
I also would have put the paperback cover (1980) of The Shining that was all glossy silver with just the outline of a face and the black hair of Danny.  Thatwas creepy as Bruce Jenner's face is now.

Had a copy of this paperback for years, until I loaned it to my brother. He lost it, and "replaced" it with a later edition.
I still haven't forgiven him.

I didn't imagine his eyes being quite that big... and the hair needs to be better. And the teeth need to be more obviously metallic. If I ever get a chance to make a 3SoPE movie, it'll knock your socks off.

When I was a kid there was a book cover with a creepy biatch wearing Mickey Mouse makeup on it. When I saw that at the book store I retreated quickly. I think the book was about makeup. The expression on the woman's face was terrifying.

Most were sorta meh...

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children --- a little creepy  .

Edith & Big Bad Bill is plenty creepy

The creepiest book I've seen lately was "Three hypnotic techniques for the spiritual enlightenment of children". Just a plain cover, but it was creepy and published in Thailand.
