I think it was Skid Row that opened for them. They were pretty good, but the Crue blew the farking roof off the place.

The way Mars covers his ugly visage doesn't surprise me, he probably never saw them coming.

I saw them last year with Poison. I went as a goof but I will say I did enjoy the show.

11/4/87 saw the second show of the brief month where Guns N Roses opened for Motley Crue. That, was a fun show. Now? No way I'd pay to see either act!

They should strap skates onto Mick Mars and launch him out into an NHL playoff game, in sort of a ski-jumper stance.  He would shatter like glass.

It's Estevan.  I doubt that your sterling reputation will be sullied.

Motley Crue (or Vince Neil solo) shows fall into one of two categories:  Decent show or god awful show.  God awful is when Vince is so hammered he sings even fewer lyrics than normal if he can remember them.  One time he was so hammered he tried to get the lead singer from Tesla to help him out, but the guy didn't know the lyrics either.

If Fark ever had a Broadway musical I bet Mötley Crüe would be in it. But ironically.

Did the same thing some years back with the Scorpions.  Dio opened for them, and they opened for Deep Purple.  We went just to laugh and have an excuse to drink, but the Scorpions' sets consisted of nothing of theirs recorded after 1988, and they played for 3 freakin' hours and tore the place a brand new one.

After that, pretty much everyone walked out on Deep Purple.

Sometimes, these old bastards can still pull it off.

Wow. I'm sorry, I'm not making my position clear. I'm not really saying you're a douche bag by default, so much as I am saying you'd have to be a douche bag to like motley crue. Does that help?

What are you when you come into a thread acting as if your opinion is the only one that matters?

I saw Motley Crue open up for Ozzy on their first big US tour in 1984...and they sucked major ass live. The arena was full of 13 year olds that had consumed as much beer as they possibly could before going in and it caught up to them once they got inside. One of them puked over four rows of seats behind me before the show even started. Sixx's bass wasn't even turned up in the sound system because he was so wasted he could barely stand up. I kinda liked their studio LP's before then, but they lost a fan forever that night.

saw MC a few years ago in B'ham.  This was EXACTLY how he sang, and it sucked.  Badly.  Wife and I left far before the show ended.  It was sad.

/the music was ok.  Well played...  or at least sounded like it.

They were awful live until they got sober.  After that they put on a hell of a show until Vince lost any semblance of lung capacity.

I was at the show where he got hit with a beer two songs in and walked off never to return.  In it's own way it was cool.

But you saw a real 80s Crüe show. Warts and all. Which is kind of awesome if you think about it from a different perspective.

Yah that's true. But it's sort if the whole point in being a fan of that band. They only exist to tell pretty much the same story as Where the Wikd Thibgs Are. It's OK to be a douchebag once in a while.
