antidisestablishmentarianism: And you can't get Cinnamon Toast Crunch anymore?

It's on sale today at the Safeway in North Beach (san francisco) for $2.99 per box. If CTC isn't available where you live, you should probably move. Eating a bowl of that delicious, cinnamony treat is just like getting a hug from the universe.

HindiDiscoMonster: My favorite, but from the 70s to the early 80s...

They changed it in the 80s... made it with honey instead of maple, so 70s was the best version.

/Yes I am old... off the lawn... all of ya.

The best cereals were from the 70's. Pure 100% real sugar when it was still bad for you; and food colorings in shades that not only caused cancer if you ate them, but merely if you looked at them. Zero nutritive value! But a healthy part of this complete breakfast!

I want to invent a cereal that makes it's own milk. Call it "Boobie-O's" shaped like little tits. Just put them in a bowl and out squirts milk.

7th Son of a 7th Son: I'm honestly surprised they haven't came out with My Little Pony : Friendship is Magic cereal. Something like Derpy Grahams, Twilight Sparkle Stars,  Rarity Rice Crunch, Pinkie's Pieberry O's, Rainbow Dash's fruit assortment, Fluttershy's Fudge squares...etc..

Or Hasbro could tie in with Kellogg's and make Applejack's Apple Jacks.

I never got to have any of these as a kid. We did have froot loops on a few odd occasions, but my dad would cut them with Cheerios.

I remember being in 2nd grade at a birthday party and one of the moms was handing out diet sodas, and I said, "I can't drink that." And she said, "Why?" And I said, "It causes cancer." And the kids were all staring at me and the mother started reassuring them saying something like, "Some people worry about the soda, but it's OK." My parents kind of turned me into a killjoy.

What's up with the Ninja Turtles' expressions on their box? What is that, coy?

Also, I don't know how I feel about this, from the linked article.

Benevolent Misanthrope: TheHighlandHowler: Somewhere, I have a box of Addams Family cereal.  (Dollar store after discontinuation)

No snark here, truly curious - why do people collect cereal?  Does it retain value over the years?  Are there cereal swap meets?

A friend of mine has an unopened can of Slurm Surge that he's kept on his dresser since it was available.
