That shiat is not cereal. That's mungoralqueer.

Keizer_Ghidorah: Gyrfalcon: The best cereals were from the 70's. Pure 100% real sugar when it was still bad for you; and food colorings in shades that not only caused cancer if you ate them, but merely if you looked at them. Zero nutritive value! But a healthy part of this complete breakfast!

That always made me laugh. A full bowl of cereal, two pieces of toast, two eggs, a glass of milk AND a glass of orange juice, all at the same time, touted as healthy and necessary. The only kids who could eat and drink that much every morning were the fat kids.

If you had the toast, eggs, bacon and juice, WTF were you having a bowl of cereal for anyway? I never knew anyone who had that kind of breakfast, except on Sundays. But oh, the joys of eating "cereal" that was 110% sugar, 50% chemical additives, 90% food coloring and .021% added vitamins. And I still have all my teeth!

corridor: cameroncrazy1984: I think I bought some French Toast Crunch recently, but my proximity to Canada probably means that our stores get it from there.

Yeah, I'm in Florida, and I'm pretty sure I just saw this at Winn Dixie a couple of days ago.

That stuff was farking awesome!

I'd also like to find some of this:

I'm pretty sure it's still made, you just can't buy it here.

You can get them for up to 10 bucks a box on Amazon. :( Expensive.

Cosmic Krispies were my favourite cereal of the past. Basically Rice Krispies with marshmallows. I should really just make a knock off version.

7th Son of a 7th Son: I'm honestly surprised they haven't came out with My Little Pony : Friendship is Magic cereal.

Well now you've gone and done it. Challenge accepted.

Wheaties Dunk A Balls, Dino Pebbles and TMNT Cereal were my favorites. I wish I could go back in time and buy up all the Nintendo Cereal System boxes.

I don't care if it was girly, this cereal tasted good.

Fortunately Frankenberry comes along every so often.

My favorite, but from the 70s to the early 80s...

They changed it in the 80s... made it with honey instead of maple, so 70s was the best version.

When I ate cereal, it bothered me a lot if the cereal ran out before the milk and vice-versa.

So, eat cereal, add cereal, eat more, add milk, etc. until box and/or milk carton empty.

/then fill up on toast

Thanx IS015963 for Kaboom nostalgia.

Kellog's made a Spiderman cereal that was unnaturally red and unnaturally tasty.

Oreo O's and French Toast Crunch were awesome.

I'm pretty open to just about any "sugar cereal." Breakfast ain't breakfast without increasing your risk of tooth decay exponentially.

Who's going to be nostalgic for Cinnamon Jacks when they inevitably get discontinued?

Most of those look nasty.

I have not eaten any of these cereals. I have only eaten two cereals in the last 30 years. Crispix with sugar and milk. Cheerios with melted butter.

Breakfast Bears were farking awesome, chocolate especially. the only cereal I ate with milk, everything else just became too soggy for me.

also loved cinnamon toast crunch and golden grahams, but not with milk.

I never liked Kaboom. It wasn't so much the flavor (although as I recall it tasted pretty nasty) but those clown faces were the stuff of nightmares.

Rice Krispies Treats cereal was impossibly addictive.  Not once did I have a box in the house that lasted a whole day.

Why do they always axe the best stuff?

Back then, "sugary" could be bragged about, before the nutrition police spoiled everything.

Hey, if you've still got your baby teeth, who cares if they rot?

IIRC, that was before they figured out how to make caffeine free diet taste even remotely good.  I don't remember ever even wanting it when mom drank it.

And real sugar, not this "high-fructose corn syrup" nastiness. I still remember with nails-on-chalkboard vividness the feeling of sugar granules grinding in my teeth when eating that stuff.

antidisestablishmentarianism: Oreo O's were stupid sugary delicious. And you can't get Cinnamon Toast Crunch anymore?

THE HELL YOU SAY!!!!

CTC is practically the only cereal my kid will eat. I luuuuuuuuurv me some Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

In a pinch, the Walmart bagged generic version will do, but it's not nearly as good as the original.

On the other hand, Cinnamon Toast Crunch still ranks down there with some of the worst flavors I've ever had in my mouth, with Yuengling beer and my own vomit.

Are you referring to the awesomeness that was the 70s-80s version or the cinnamon flavored cardboard crap that is the modern version? When General Mills, Post and all the others changed their recipes to make them healthier it was a sad day for cereal lovers.

I'm sure you're right; the first time I ever tasted Cinnamon Toast Crunch was definitely post-2001 (Costco provided a coupon) and it wasn't just bad, it was horrible.  I don't know anything about "healthier;" it couldn't have been that.
