HairBolus: There is this vid by "Miss Lin" that is supposedly hilarious - she is making fun of Tawainese media stars who like to throw in American words and use American style pronunciation of Chinese (e.g. toneless) to appear cool.

Reminds me of the weird invasion of german translated songs of the 80's, like 99 luft balloons, or Der kommissar when most of it is in german, and then he goes "heyy, wanna buy some stuff man?"

Is anything more annoying than farkers who actually take the time to go into a thread and complain about a repeat instead of just skipping the thread?

No.  None more annoying.

how many times do we need to hear this same old complaint about repeat complaints trotted out?

This is awesome, I've always wanted to hear a non-english speaker fake it. But I have to admit that if I didn't know what they were doing, I would probably just listen harder thinking I was missing something.

I said it the first time I saw this video, and I'll say it now: How is this any different from grunge lyrics?

I wonder how many calories I'd burn dancing like that. It looks like fun.

This may be a repeat, but it's the first time I've seen it here, so I just want to thank subby. I thoroughly enjoyed it and have watched it a couple of times now. It's stuck in my head.

LMAO!

Well now, why didn't you post it two years ago...last year...this year....and again this week?  It could've been the "best" as well as the fodder for the biatchy repost police brigades?

And damn you for making me interested enough to actually Google the lyrics so I can at least be somewhat correct in singing them now that it'll be stuck in my head for days...

Foreign accents in English can be charming, even downright sexy, depending on the speaker. However, I can't imagine how an American accent butchering a foreign language could be charming or sexy... I've tried it in Spanish & the reaction is not positive.

The only thing worse than an American speaking Spanish is a Scottish man with a heavy Highlands accent speaking Spanish.

When I was in France in the 90s, I was working with high school students and coaching them in drama.  They were doing one scene where one was supposed to be British, trying to speak French.  It seemed the common consensus of how to do a British accent was to speak French like your dentures were about to fall out.

I used to work with a few Germans, and the consensus among them was that Americans (and to a lesser extent British) all sound like Scooby-Doo - lots of "ruh ruh roh roh rohruh" noises.

the beginning woman sounded like Italian,

and in the song I recognize a few words - or i guess a collision of consonants and vowels that just SOUND like English words -

freezin' cold

/also, the song was done in 1972? or the video too? or is the visuals just random clips from other films etc. ?
