I was too creeped-out by the first 10 seconds of that to watch the rest.

I know that lots of Spanish-speakers notice how we end so many words in the "-ation" sound. On Sábado Gigante, there's a character called La Cuatro who imitates English and says things like, "Mírame la cosation."

Foreign accents in English can be charming, even downright sexy, depending on the speaker. However, I can't imagine how an American accent butchering a foreign language could be charming or sexy... I've tried it in Spanish & the reaction is not positive.

I used to work with a few Germans, and the consensus among them was that Americans (and to a lesser extent British) all sound like Scooby-Doo - lots of "ruh ruh roh roh rohruh" noises.

The English version of Der Kommissar is all in English, except the parts that are in English in the German version, which are in German in the English version.
