After hearing the Montreal coach, I'm rooting for Ottawa. Everything about the Montreal organization just comes off as classless.

paj: 4NSpy: paj: Sharks/Canucks series is on TSN now? Weren't they on CBC the first two games?

Nope, always TSN.

CBC took the leafs and mon/ott series in their first two picks.

Ok thanks, so much hockey I can't keep track of which network has what.

THIS LOOKS LIKE A JOB FOR... my NHL playoff spreadsheet. Canadian TV shown on the team names at left (red for CBC, blue for TSN, italics for francais a la RDS); American shown game-by-game obviously, with some educated guesses for the games late this week that haven't been officially announced yet.

irishman4: what the fark ottawa? whats with all the habs fans in your building? get it together

Leaf/Sens games are fun that way too... Toronto is about the same distance the other way.   I know a few guys that live between Toronto and Ottawa and are Leaf fans that have season tickets in both buildings...  Also, in the 60 or so years since Ottawa had a team and got one back, the town divided their loyalties pretty much down the middle based on language... so Leafs and Habs have a strong local fan base...

Donnchadha: Why do you hate the Wild? It's like hating the Astros -- every once in a while they'll make some noise, but they're generally harmless.

As a Flames fan, I see far more of the Wild than I would like.

In the pre Suter and Parise days, and still to some extent now, the Wild play the most joyless, boring, defensive, safe hockey of any team in the league. It's like they want to take hockey and just make it a f*cking chore to watch.

It goes back to several seasons ago when the Flames had Pay-Per-View games about 8-10 times a season.

One Tuesday night with no wife and kids and nothing to do, I ordered the PPV game. Flames/Wild. I settled in with a few beers and watched one of the most godawful games I have ever seen. Result, Flames blanked 3-0 at home.

It was a failing of my team as well. Truly just a complete breakdown.

F*ck the Wild.

I'm not a big Hawks fan, other than they are fun to watch and despise the Canucks as I also do, but I have nothing but disdain for the Minnesota Wild.

Malacon: All the complaining to refs, the temper tantrums, the post whistle jabs, third-man-in for fights, punches from behind etc detract from him as being a great player.

No, they don't.

He gets mentioned in the same breath as Gretzkty and won a Cup by age 22. Among scoring leaders every year, when he's healthy, and led the league this year while he was still injured for quite some time.

Did he make mistakes as a new NHLer? Sure he did, but to say that any of that garbage detracts from the best NHL superstar in a generation? No, that's dumb.

Vangor: Fubar: You're right, this league would be sooooo much better without its best player.

No one is suggesting we would be better without Crosby, though I would argue a single player is not the best but is among the best and he certainly is among the best, but he is not this entity supporting the whole of the league. He is a great, marketable player.

FreakinB: They may go over the top, but for the most part he deserves it.

Undoubtedly he deserves a great deal of praise, but I seriously disapprove of the numerous references to Crosby when not involved in the play. This has quieted recently, but this was ceaseless and at the height of his whining.

craigzy: i hate crosby just as much as everyone for being a whiny biatch, but when you watch the guy live you can tell he is on a different level than everyone else on the ice.

I see Crosby as a great player who happens to have a quality team who tries to work around Crosby.

I mean, I don't think there's any question that he's the best player. Sure he has defensive shortcomings, but he's so far ahead of everyone else offensively.

fark the Penguins, their fans and that whiny biatch, Crosby. Of course there are no Penguins fans here now talking shiat, they do all smack talking when the Wings are

Hey, as sublimely delicious as it was to win the Cup in the Joe, I for one kinda like the Wings. They make great Honorable Rivals and, unlike you, are classy.

With the Wings moving to the Eastern Conference, I am rooting for a Wings Pens cup, to settle it.  Best of three and all.

I'm obviously not on his side here, but I really wish people would calm down about Crosby. Dude's amazing.
