Just so we're all clear here...

Countries 1, 2, and 3 and are all moving weapons into Country 4 with the sole purpose of destroying Country A.

Country A finds out about this and destroys the weapons in Country 4.

Country 4 gets pissed and says that they have a right to have those weapons there to destroy Country A and are mad because they didn't have a chance to use them before Country A destroyed all of them.

Wow. You just gotta love arab logic.

Fear_and_Loathing: Ever wondered where she keeps the magazine?

The reason why soldiers keep their rifles 100% of the time with themselves, even if they do not have the clip, is because a rifle with a certain serial number is assigned to every soldier and it becomes their responsibility. If they lose it, they will go to jail. Therefore they might leave the clip home, but they will bring the rifle to the beach on their day off.

I mean a soldier will bring it in the bathroom as well.

Yeah, after Iraq, we lost that high ground forever.

The drone use, however, isn't hypocritical at all. That's like saying that because we dropped bombs in France in 1944, we were preëmptively attacking the French.

Syria can't even tame their own rebel, and suddenly they are going to take on Israel? Lebanon is scared shiatless that the sectarian violence will spill over on their side of the border worst than it already has, and no way they are getting involved over this. Jordan? Egypt? Don't make me laugh. What are the Iraqis going to do about it? Yemen? Saudi Arabia? Qatar? Dubai? UAE?

All those bolded countries (plus Iran) ... the only thing stopping them from teaming up on Israel is the fear of going against the US.  The only reason Israel gets to walk around with its chest puffed out like it does is because their is an implicit threat from the US backing them up.  It's like a loud mouthed biatch at a bar talking shiat to all the other women at the bar because her linebacker boyfriend is standing behind her.

You are aware that those countries have purchased enough American fighter jets over the last few decades that they would pose a serious problem for Israel if not for the fact that they'd be cutting their own throats due to the American backlash right?  Or are Israeli's THAT naive and arrogant to think they really don't need the US in order to continue going on like they have?

The UAB, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Iran would be VERY difficult for Israel to defeat without help from the US, or using nukes (which they got from the US).  If you don't think so, you are in a sad state of denial, blinded by nationalism and a false sense of superiority.

You're very correct about AJ's leanings, and like any news agency these days you need to look past their agenda for the truth, but even so I've seen the most timely and accurate reporting on a wide variety of world events come from Al Jazeera.

Just not for Israel related news.

I think Tatsuma is a big of a douche as the next red blooded American, but that's not what he's arguing.  You're arguing "can they," he's arguing WHY would they.

And, unfortunately, he's right.  You may as well argue that there's no way that Israel can beat Iran, Canada, and Godzilla without the US's help.  Doesn't matter if you're right, it's so unlikely to happen, so who cares?

That's fine, if you're arguing that Israel's Muslim neighbors would never team up (as they have in the past) because they don't actually care about what Israel does and only cynically pretend to care in order to manipulate their own people for political reasons.  That's fine, but I really do actually think he believes Israel to be some kind of military juggernaut that hasn't relied heavily on the US for decades.

We've been trying that for a while now, in case you hadn't noticed.  (like since the Carter admin.) I don't fault you for preferring a peaceful resolution.  Who doesn't?  But honestly, once there are piles of dead civilians from WMD's, it's probably a bit late for the strongly worded letter.
