I have to say, this is an interesting form of charity. I'm going to recommend that the Semiotix Foundation look into this.

Currently most of our funds go towards producing an educational pamphlet for at-risk youths entitled "How You Could Have Avoided Going To Prison."

/nah, I get it, just kidding

Chris Brown has done worse than all of this combined so your argument is invalid.

Bless your heart. But how can you do a slam on country singers and leave out the guy who bought a tame bear, chained it into a pen and then killed it by shooting it with arrows from a near by tree stand? Link

/Nice of old George to do this.

Two of those were for possession of marijuana. All of the bad people in that situation either work for or lobby the government.

KrispyKritter: Smeggy Smurf:

Having never heard of Rodney Atkins, I googled him. Turns out, he was a sickly date-rape baby that was returned by prospective adoptive parents, twice. Of course, that doesn't excuse his behavior, but it would make for one hell of a tear-jerking country ballad.

Most of the stuff George Jones did never made its way to a publicist.  He deserves a hero tag.

Wouldn't it have been better to give the money to poor aged artists so they don't have to die penniless?

Musicians in general often don't make healthy life choices. More news at 11.

Twas my thought, too. Watched his memorial service Thursday night and though I'm no atheist the religious references got to be way too much for me to stomach.

How do you know it didn't give money to people that needed a hand?

That's what the article is about.

People who are penniless are usually that way because of things they did and choices they made. Giving them money would most likely see them penniless again in short order. If you feel compelled to help, you're better off donating money to a charity that will feed and house them and won't let them drink it, smoke it, shoot it up, or gamble it away.

The point is their dead. Personally, I rather have the money for one more hot heal. You dump my corpse in a ditch when the time comes for all I care.
