Fools. When I need advice on rebuilding an Oracle server, I think of the guy who gets paid to eat a crapload of something in certain time limit.

I'd ask Alton Brown for advice about cooking gadgets.

Krieghund: I'd ask Alton Brown for advice about cooking gadgets.

He's the only "celebrity chef" I'd ask for advice.  And he'd tell us to fark off.

Food Network magazine is lame. My mom picked up this one recently:

I was looking forward to the "50 Ways to Eat a Fried Egg" so prominently featured in the upper corner. It turned out to be nothing but two pages of tiny pictures of different foods with egg on them.

Some of the best advice you can get from Food Network is what you can glean from Guy Fieri's uncensored facial expressions.

I remember a dive cook threw a bottle of MSG based seasoning into a pot and Guy's expression broke for a moment of the sort of disgust reserved for pedophiles. Almost as disgusted as he gets around eggs.

I'd probably trust them for home decor and fashion advice more so than I'd trust them for culinary advice.

The "50 Ways to Eat a Fried Egg"  was the part that grabbed my attention as well.  WTF?
Apple pie - With a fried egg!
Salad - With a fried egg!
Pie - With a fried egg!
Steak - With a fried egg!
Scrambled eggs - With a fried egg!
