I'm not gonna believe any of that liberal media claptrap!

I found this far more interesting:

* Pope Francis tweeted this week, "My thoughts turn to all who are unemployed, often as a result of a self-centred mindset bent on profit at any cost." It came a day after he condemned the "slave labor" conditions at a Bangladesh factory whose collapse last week killed hundreds. Political activists on the right were not pleased, accusing the pope of supporting "socialism."

Laudable.  Put your money where your mouth is, Frannie.

A little thing like facts isn't going to get the conservative christian right to climb down off their cross.

They invested a lot of money into that Authentic Cross Replica from ChristianConservativeCross.com that Glenn was pushing on his radio show.

Even as a non-believer, I have to give the Pope respect. He seems like he's not afraid to piss off angry white people and actually read the New Testament. I hope he follows through and tells the Vatican administrative crew to not order new altar cloths/vestments/robes from those Bangladeshi factories.

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins expressed outrage that the Obama administration is involved in an "anti-Christian offensive." His colleague, FRC Executive Vice President Lt. Gen. (Ret.) William "Jerry" Boykin, added, "If this policy goes forward, Christians within the military who speak of their faith could now be prosecuted as enemies of the state."

but but i heard hannity say it. on fox, it has to be true.

occasionally as i flip through the dial i find myself watching hannity. if i watch more than a couple of minutes i see/hear him lie. doesn't matter the subject, he has a lie for it. and outrage. the man has lots of outrage.

On a personal level, how do they keep up the hate, outrage, and victimhood all day, every day? Don't they ever just get tired of it? They don't ever stop for a moment and say to themselves, "I don't even enjoy life anymore, this is a horrible way to live?"

Probably, but all their media outlets are also telling them that the reason they feel that way is because of the liberals. Which feeds the outrage, because how DARE anyone make them feel like this!

the constant hatred, we feel it gives our life meaning - - technically Jesus was all about love but it's way easier to choose to hate non christians and treat fellow christians with indifference. we got some serious priority issues that will probably take us 2,000 more years to work out. of course at that point we'll be united with islam and the jews and will be a minority population to whom the majority grants special rights. these things - - i'm calling them right now.

Don't bother.  Religion is in decline, in a thousand years it'll be isolated in small, backwards areas and laughed at by most of society.  The big religions will be about as influential as druidism is today.

Vis a vis the beggar story:

A priest in Rome looks out the front door of his church and sees two beggars sitting on the curb. One of them is wearing a big cross around his neck and the other, a few feet away, a huge Star of David. All the passersby pointedly ignore the Jewish beggar and give their money to the Christian one. Finally the priest can stand it no longer. He goes out to the Jewish beggar and says "My son, you are in the capital of Christendom. No one is going to give you money when a Christian beggar is sitting a few feet away." The Jewish beggar turns to the Christian one and says "Hey Manny, this priest wants to give the Bernstein brothers advice on marketing."

2013-05-04 05:13:54 PM
Christensen added. "Service members can share their faith (evangelize), but must not force unwanted, intrusive attempts to convert others of any faith or no faith to one's beliefs (proselytization)."

ZOMG! You mean they're not allowed to get in your face and tell you how you're going to hell if you don't embrace Jesus?!? HELP, HELP, WE'RE BEING REPRESSED!!!

Just as the 60 years of "oh my gerd, the holocaust was horrible", was winding down.

Along comes the "Oh my gerd, we christians are being oppressed by everybody who hates us for our morals of hating everything that we have been told to hate at the cult meetings every holiday sunday that does not interfere with sports where that coach was obviously framed by Obama himself for taking the time to nurcher and wash the young boys with the special charity he set up so he could wash their whole bodies just like Jesus did in order for full release of the goo filled pore of his penis".

/Praise Gerd and all that he whargarbles against.
//Jesus was Jewish as well. But he was converted to be a Christian after the pope blessed his grave site under Mount Yagottabekiddinme.

FOX flogs fake "war on religion in the military" story and the usual gang of morans like FRC, Deadbart and Yawn Hamncheez run with it until Maddow and others point out what dipshiats they are?

FOX should just change their motto from "Fair and Balanced"  to "All the Derp that's Fit to Herp"

.For the record, at last count, the atheists were winning.

I took a mandatory USAF "Freedom of Religious Expression" course online this very day. It didn't mention the rounding up of Christians. It pretty much said you can have your faith, we will try to accomodate it, but don't cram it down people's throats and overall, mission first. If there was any implied threats to Christians I didn't see it.

There's a large number of Christians out there, especially in the AF Academy that see the bolded part as persecution.

Some high lights from Wiki about William "Jerry" Boykin

In fact, a Fort Bragg psychologist almost ended Boykin's career, wanting to exclude him from the Delta Force because he was "too religious".

And during Operation Eagle Claw   Boykin called it "the greatest disappointment of my professional career because we didn't bring home 53 Americans."[5] Despite this, his "faith was strengthened" believing he had witnessed "a miracle": "Not one man who stood with us in the desert and pleaded for God to go with us was killed or even injured that night."[3]

Not someone I would call unbiased.

Or how about this from almost exactly four years ago Democracy Now 5/6/2009 and the Crusade for a Christian Military
"What does Special Forces do hunts for people like we do for Christ"

I am hoping that the whole not persecuting gays has lead to some of them leaving the Military and kept the more militant Christians out of the Military.

Sad but true.

Anyone remember back to the days of 2007 when government watchdog groups shot down a 3 day Evangelical Memorial Day "Salute to the Troops" advertised as  "an official U.S. Air Force 60th Anniversary event."?

The Memorial Day weekend "Salute to the Troops" celebration at Stone Mountain Park is sponsored by Task Force Patriot USA, a private group that says its purpose is "sharing the fullness of life in Jesus Christ with all U.S. military, military veterans and families," and whose Web site says "Christ is our Commander-in-Chief."

Good times, good times.
