Your FFPL report for Round 36

farm9.staticflickr.com

Thirteen games in this round, Unlucky for one?

No report last week owing to a trip to Las Vegas. I return ruined and dissolute. However, at the top, I slightly extend my narrow lead as the Dorian Grey Theorem between FFPL and EPL results gains credibility. Obamartins has consolidated second place, whilst Cognitive_Displaysia and kcostell scrimmage for bronze.

At the bottom, ScouserDuck and 30/30 both increased their totals by more than 10% whilst DesertMoloch cramped to a -30. All are being outfought by Nobiology, who hasn't entered predictions for four months.

I was top scorer for the week with a stolid 115, ahead of Obamartins on 95 and Mr_H, and The_Envoy on 90. At the other end of the spectrum, a mighty -90 from lost_limey, only prevented from a negative triple figure spectacular by a cruel home win for MCFC against West Ham - quite an achievement nevertheless in a ten game round. ADubs86, NorfolkingChance and HaywoodJablonski glad to have their performances obscured.

With the 13 games in this round, there is the potential to do yourself some real damage! Can a hero break that -100 threshold?

At the top of this report is the FFPL logo I bodged together in PowerPoint in under 20 minutes. Interested parties should submit logos to these threads between now and the end of the season, and we'll pick one for the 13-14 season.

3 games to go!

COYI

Top half finish would be nice

Banker this week is on Tottenham crushing a weak Southampton with nothing to play for, and my insurance chip is on Chelsea to squeak past Manchester United, but I hope I'm wrong on either game. Or both.

-90? Holy crap I done farked up.

Now to pick quick for this week.

At least I'm still kicking ass in MLS fantasy.

Should be an interesting Merseyside derby tomorrow.

Apparently I'm in 3rd. I picked my team on the basis that they had names from Yorkshire...

Ok, crazy stuff happening in the Hull City/Cardiff match... Good god

2013-05-04 09:42:16 AM
Peterborough, Wolves and Bristol are now out of the Championship and into league 1.

2013-05-04 09:44:42 AM
All of this in Injury Time:

Fans rush the pitch, after they hear a whistle assuming the match reached FT, and hence, promotion for Hull City. Instead, a foul was called in the box.

Hull City gets a PK, it gets blocked.

Cardiff pushes the ball forward and gets a penalty awarded to them. Handball.

Nicky Maynard converts the penalty.

Full Time: 2-2.

Hull City now has to wait on the Watford result, I think.

2013-05-04 09:50:30 AM
OH GOD. THE WATFORD KEEPER BOTTLES IT

2013-05-04 09:50:41 AM
howay the lads!

Holy effing sh*t.

Hull City are back!
Last time out, they brought an inexperienced Jozy Altidore. Good luck getting him now. Try for Joe Gyau.

2013-05-04 09:59:38 AM
And something almost as crazy for Watford, who is denied automatic promotion after giving up a goal in the 90th minute. A chip from almost outside the box that the GK had his hands on, and bounced out of them and into the goal.

So Hull City indeed gets their promotion and Watford enter the playoffs.

Keep in mind this is the most of the Championship I've ever watched.

So the spurs game is delayed almost 30 minutes because of traffic? Interesting.

Twitter says a traffic  accident near the stadium.

I wanted Hull 2nd, Leicester 6th, and Peterborough safe. Two out of three ain't bad.

WHL is not an easy stadium to get to or from. Took me four hours once, and I only lived in NW4.

My tongue was pressed firmly in my cheek. Took me 2.5 hours to get from Woburn to Wimbledon; 1:45 of which was in London

C'mon West Brom - I'm not too proud to take all the help we can get.

West Brom up 1 and Fulham down 1. Spurs has finally kicked off.

Every single game in Dodger Stadium's history would have been delayed on those grounds...

If we lose at home to an already relegated Reading I will feel compelled to post no longer for the remainder of the season out of pure shame.

And now Reading scores again.

Also, Tottenham is sleepwalking out there. There's still a lot of time left, but damn they're playing with lead shoes

2013-05-04 11:39:35 AM
Wigan goes up 3-2 at the Hawthornes!

Agbonlahor!

What a boost for Villa staying up!

2013-05-04 11:53:51 AM
In hindsight, I should have seen a 0-0 draw for Swaans-City. Two teams, one with nothing to play for, the other with a cup final next week.

2013-05-04 11:54:31 AM
-50 from those five games. Banker on 3-1 Spurs.

I had my banker on a City win so there goes my BB.  I got saved by getting a perfect on the Villa score, but still at -20 for the day before the Spurs match.

Ditto with 2-0 Spurs. Sounds like we're not alone.

WOOF!  Squeaky bum time indeed...

Wigan doing it again...Hull back up to the PL, Villa are pretty much safe but the Black Cats are nervously looking their shoulder...

2013-05-04 12:04:17 PM
Also: COYG!  Let's put some more misery onto that other N. London club!
