It's a beautiful spot, doesn't seem like the best line-up though....

Milan Kundera said that if you must indulge in kitsch, that you must either embrace it as kitsch or as an authentic expression.

Hard to tell with some of these folks.

Peavey searched through Florida to gather a collection of girl to compete in the annual Mrs. Suwannee River Jam - in "Daisy Duke style."

What is a "collection of girl?" The reporter was into the spirit of the event.

So this is OK, but 'Dress like a Redneck Day' gets people's shorts in a twist? Neither of them offend me, personally - I'm just looking for some consistency to the outrage.

I grew up on Moon Pies, and how dare you besmirch the greatness that is an RC Cola and a Moon Pie on a moonlit Saturday night in the country.

Nice stereotyping of a country music festivals and their fans subby.   It's not fair to any genre of music really.

I'm used to folk festivals in the Northeast, where we poke fun of skotts.

How is it stereotyping?  I admit (although I'm not happy that it is) that country is largely derided on Fark, but that lineup is straight from the article.

It's the redneck equivalent of "binders full of women," I believe.

I stand corrected, as I DNRTFA in its entirety.  My apologies for my smugness.

I have great memories of catching Moon Pies during Mardi Gras. I treasured them just as much as I did Cups, T-shirts, and the NICE kind of beads. Gonna try to take Mr Mafiageek1980 to a parade or two next year.

My sister was laughing at a local paper (which for some reason, she was reading) and showed me a wedding notice that said the bride's gown was made by her Mother of polyester.

I'm sure she got a lot of use out of it.

Drip dry. Wash and wear. No ironing. Good Ole, Durable, Low-Maintenance Polyester. The Bride's real best friend. The Bridesmaids are just scores she has to settle before she settles down.

They sell wedding decorations at the Dollar Store. I haz a sad when I see them. Poor people are poor.

And then I buy my Fresca and Cola and leave. Best price in walking distance.

They have a lot of useful cheap crap in the Dollar Store. I've always had a fondness for old-timey kitchen gadgets for some reason. You can use them in two minutes and rinse them off. With labour-saving devices, it takes ten minutes to set them up and forty-five minutes to clean those dangerous little blades.

The Chinese are pretty good with steel. It is one of the things they do right. They were awful with solar power until recently and still can't do a sticky note that sticks, but they will soon be Our Evil Alien Overlords, so think nice thoughts about them.

If you RTFA and the headline, the bride and groom were presented with RC Cola and TWINKIES.  Unless they mis-reported Little Debbie Cloud Cakes, that is stale sacrilege. only Moon Pies from Chattanooga, TN should go with RC Cola.  Period.

Allen. The end. Sheryl Crow is 'country'?? SHENANIGANS!!!!

If your hometown is a stone's throw from Arkansas & also gave birth to the creator of Snuffy Smith & Trent Tomlinson, winner of The Nashville Network talent contest whose 1st hit single was "Drunker Than Me", you might, in fact, be 'country'
