This is actually pretty cool. Not as cool as Strawberry Fields, but cool nonetheless. . . .

Toledo 1986. Backstage before Beastie show. As MCA is riding a skateboard, a local moron shouts "Mike D". Without even looking up MCA flips him the bird. This makes me smile whenever I think of it.

This morning Beastie Boys fans of all ages, from babies to grandparents,

At first I was like, what a stupid unoriginal joke, grandparents liking the Beastie Boys but then I thought, wait, I love the Beastie Boys, wait...there's a few kids I graduated that are grandparents now.

I guess I better start tell kids to get off my lawn now.

It was not a tough decision, as you can see.

/Does the park have a field on which to play wiffle ball?

I like how they used to play the beats to Paul Revere and then just let the crowd rap the whole song.

You think the park is over, but it's ready to begin.

I thought the wiffle-ball diamond was classy.

I miss him so much. Now I know how those crazed Elvis, Michael Jackson and Aaliyah fans feel.

I remember saving money from my crappy high-school fast food job to buy two copies of License to Ill from the local Tower Records back in 86/87 so I could practice doing "DJ Tricks" on 2 crappy turntables. It helped me do what I do now...in any case, very cool.

/still work in fast food...

Music has been very important to me for nearly all of my 44 years.  When Adam Yauch died, it was the first time I had shed tears over a celebrity death since Belushi in 1982.  I still miss him.

I hope they have a shiatload of unreleased music.
