(The Hollywood Reporter)   Dr. Drew announces he will no longer exploit celebrities with drug and alcohol addictions. Not because it's unethical; rather, it's because too many of his patients have died and the insurance company doesn't look favorably on it   (hollywoodreporter.com) divider line 12

He went on Carolla's podcast after McCready died and made the point, "someone who was an addict for decades that I saw for six weeks three years ago does and it's my fault??"

LectertheChef: Lsherm: I always thought Adam Carolla was the douchebag of the pair, but it really was Dr. Drew.

Carolla's podcasts are top farking notch.  The car and home shows are exceptional.

They're both douchebags. Dr. Drew just played nice guy to Corolla's assholery.

I get that Corolla is funny, but I can't stand him.  Same with Norm Macdonald.  I know he has a style people like, but I just find him annoying as all fark.

I don't think he deserves the heat for the five deaths, because excluding the ones that didn't overdose, that's likely pretty close to par. Making a show of intimate drug treatment is something else though. On one hand, thank you for shining light on the problem of addiction, on the other hand, fark you for trying to treat that illness on camera. You put someone so sick like the little pathetic biatch Jeff Conway had become at his worst on TV. Was he sane and sober when he consented?

Lets blame Dr. Drew for washed up Celebrities realizing they're complete losers on TV, and decide to off themselves afterward!  Sound reasoning.  I'm glad we haven't brought the pitchforks out yet, that would just be stupid.

I'm what's wrong with society today and watched quite a few episodes of the show. I was appalled that he made Heidi Fleiss and her ex-boyfriend who'd spent time in jail for beating ass, Tom Sizemore, live together. That's when I was officially done with anything with the Dr Drew label.

He's a vulture. He must get google alerts for "dead celebrity" throw on a tight teeshirt and whore in front of the first camera he sees.

FTA:  Dr. Drew Pinsky says he has no plans to go forward with another season of Celebrity Rehab because he's "tired of taking all the heat" following the deaths of five former cast members.

Yeah, how dare they blame him for the deaths of five of his patients after he "treated" them for their "disease".

Kimmel is arguably the hottest thing on late night. Carolla is doing stand up and podcasts. Their paths certainly diverged after the Man Show ended. Also the guys they replaced them with were just awful.

Man, I remember staying up late at night in my early teens to listen to LoveLine on the radio.

Damn, sometimes I miss the 90's.
