Have something to say about himself besides "I'm a Latino immigrant businessman with a Harvard MBA and Former SEAL", and not be a Republican.

To be fair: He doesn't NEED to be a Democrat. We would consider him if he was Green/Rainbow party. We just have no interest in a Republican.

We tried the "Moderate Republican". We got a reactionary nude model who couldn't take a shiat without asking the GOP where it should land.

I'll also point out that the features mentioned in the article and by subby have exactly dick to do with the policies this guy is promoting.

Sure, by voting with his party around 50% of the time.  Yeah, he was quite the party sycophant.  Unlike the replacement who's basically stated she's nothing but an obstructionist tool of the party, 100% toe the line.  A poster child for the party polarization that's strangling our government.

But to answer subby:  MA's a blue state and the political machine's ridiculously effective.  Which is quite the shame.

Done in one.

Furthermore, anyone with a brain or any amount of human decency should have quit the Republican party years ago, after the takeover by stupid religious fundamentalists, the NRA, and Fox News.

No, just say you don't care if people are gay and flag burning, while stupid, doesn't require a Constitutional Amendment to keep people's feelings from being hurt.

In other words, act like a grown-up.

I'm so sick of this shiat. With Republicans, it's always  who the person is and not what they'll do in office. You could be Ronald Farkin' Reagan, beloved actor -and still sell weapons to Iran in order to pay for a private war in Nicaragua. (Of course, if you're a Republican -you ignore that little fact).

2013-05-03 12:14:35 PM
He could take the pledge to say that he won't accept any outside money for his campaign.  BUT he thought it wise to say I will take the monies!!

2013-05-03 12:15:38 PM
Perhaps not being a member of a party which is known for being anti-science, anti-women's rights, pro-torture, and pro-obstructionism would help his chances.

Just a thought.

Its also not 50%, it is closer to 75% in total and 100% when it mattered.

He was the king of voting for cloture then when something burst through he would switch his vote and then claim he was heroic.

Terrible, so glad he is gone.

Great, if I need a Latino business man who knows about Seal training then he will be the first person I call.

Now, tell me what you know about governing and explain to us how your Harvard MBA is any different than the Harvard MBA held by the men and women who tanked our economy.

"...and I can't help but like a SEAL."

I don't want to denigrate SEALs, they're exceptional people by every account I've seen, ever. But I'd love to kinda denigrate those on the right who would worship them, if I may, a little:

I'm having a hard time coming up with an mirror-image example of hero worship from the left. I suppose if either Neil DeGrasse Tyson or Bill Nye ran for office as a Democrat we'd have some sort of embarrassing collective libby lib nerdgasm, but that's never happened and it's unlikely to.

So is there a potential hero worship thingie that we libs are prone to that I'm just having trouble thinking of right now? Or are we just not the type to get man crushes and/or wet panties at the sight of certain uniforms?

This guy took a look at the GOP, saw everything they did for the last decade or so and said to himself, "I'd like to help"

That's a red flag.

I wouldn't trust anyone like that. The GOP is garbage.

/garbage I say!

I dunno, maybe have a political agenda that matches what voters want.

Because otherwise his SEAL background and Harvard MBA are no more impressive than Mitt Romney's billion dollars.

If this particular ex-seal was a democrat he would of found a way to accuse him of being a traitor.
