No thanks. Another non-cable show trying to be "cable-edgy" but restrained by the FCC. And why should I believe anything Rolling Stone says. They give every Yoko Ono album their highest rating and they're all just her screaming like she's being raped by a jackhammer.

It's a great show. This season is a little less awesome, the characters are becoming more broad and slaves to the plot, but on the whole, well worth your time.

Great show.

Move over, Community!

Har har, I get it, like a handjob!

It's really hit or miss.  But when it's on, it's hilarious.

Plus all three chicks are smoking hot.

Sorry, the best show you're not watching is The Americans.

2013-05-03 10:23:51 AM
I can't watch Elisha Cuthbert anywhere without thinking she's going to somehow accidentally/coincidentally end up being held hostage by the same exact terrorists whom her father had spent the entire day looking for.
/and eventually killing.

The best show you're not watching is the one in my head, on Cinemax, starring Elisa Cuthbert as a strong woman suffering from a rare psychological disorder where she is overcome, several times per day, with an uncontrollable urge to strip nude and lather herself in baby oil.

Looking for four things here people . . .

The article describes Cuthbert as "the girl next door". Does that term have meaning anymore? The girl next door doesn't usually look like this:

It is often a very funny show, but its like they are constantly changing out writers with how inconsistent the quality of the humor is between shows or how extreme the characters are from one episode to another.

See, there was this movie...

I tried two episodes of it a year or two ago. The jokes weren't funny and felt forced. The characters were annoying. Something about Casey Wilson's delivery really bothered me. I felt like I was watching a high school play.

Why are people still writing this article? Hasn't ABC's cancellation of it been fait accompli for a while now? The only Hail Mary fans of the show have now is that USA will pick it up in a move to add more comedies to their lineup.

Right now I just discovered "Go On" and will spend my summer furiously catching up on that before it no doubt gets cancelled next season.

I would violate Casey Wilson like she was an expired parking meter.  It'd be the 30... maybe 40 best seconds of her life.

The girl next door to me does.  Of course, her name is Elisha Cuthbert.  We skinny-dip in her pool every weekend.

I remember watching the pilot and absolutely hating it, but then caught it flipping through channels the following season and really enjoyed it.  It's an entertaining show, but making it sound greater than it is will just make potential viewers disappointed (I feel the same way about Community).

I'm missing something then, because I've tried. Heck, I like Sucker Punch, don't mind watching the Transformers movies on cable when they're on, sat through horrendous episodes of Animal Practice just to see Joanna Garcia do ANYthing and still laugh at early episodes of 2 and a half Men with Sheen in them, but I've actually really TRIED to like this show and just can't.
It feels like the characters are written by a person who doesn't have any friends and feels this is what it would be like.

Man, that went pretty dark about halfway through.

I've watched it a few times. I want to like it mostly because the girls are hot and the characters seem likeable. I can't. The frenetic delivery of their lines renders it un-listenable for me.

I haven't watched it but I assume it's on par with: Always Sunny, Community, The League, and Parks and Rec.

Aside from Elisha Cuthbert being one of the most desirable females on the planet I can't get through one segment of this show.

I haven't watched The League.   Knowing the others though, I'd say it is more like a version of "Friends", except trying to be more like Community or P&R.

The Leauge is very underrated. Its ridiculously raunchy, but the kind that makes you laugh. Taco is the man.

OK, it's on my list.  As soon as it gets cancelled, I'll sit and watch it, so I don't have yet another ongoing show to keep track of.

THIS

There aren't many shows that make me actually laugh out loud on a regular basis. This is one of them. I'm so pissed it's doomed.

The write up makes it sound like a live action family guy without the subtlety.

Any time 3/4 of the page is dedicated to convincing me the showis hilarious, it isn't. It's advertisement. And heavy handed at that.

2013-05-03 12:46:53 PM
Although Eliza Coupe doesn't have much in the ta-ta's department, her legs (and the awesomely ridiculous short skirts she wears on the show) are definitely another two reasons to watch....

/somebody posted a wholly unflattering picture of her upthread...she is much hotter than that pic would suggest

Rafi is supposed to be the crazy one, but there is something about Taco that makes me think he's the actual psycho on that show.

I would do unspeakable things to Eliza Coupe given the opportunity.

She would laugh derisively at my efforts and say something incredibly hurtful but that only makes her hotter.

Don't get me wrong, The Americans is great, but until Breaking Bad ends its run later this year, everything else on TV is second at best.

I enjoy the show greatly. I think it's hilarious, I love the randomness of it (and it's realistic randomness, unlike Family Guy), and I think the characters have good chemistry with each other. I'm a sucker for puns and pop-culture references, and it doesn't hurt that it's set in Chicago.

Damon Wayans, Jr. is an incredibly gifted physical comedy actor.

I never watched the show until somebody sent me a link to the bit he does in the dentist's office.

It took me a while to get used to some of the characters, but it's now one of my favorite shows on TV. Not as good as Archer, but better than most TV comedies.

It's strange because I like all of the characters but the chemistry seems off.  I think a big part of the problem is that half the cast has improv backgrounds.  Not that this is inherently bad, but they kind of all have the same comic energy, and it can get kind of wearying that there's 6 of them behaving in basically the same way.  I like the show but it's gone from "must see" to "I'll save it on my DVR and watch it while I'm cooking."
