I shot the sheriff but I did not shoot th deputy.

Ok, well that's still a capital offense and since you've admitted it we'll escort you to death row.

I thought this was going to be about that one time I saw Ben Stiller at a Banana Republic in the Mall of Louisiana.  I was waving to him, but he seemed to be ignoring me, which I thought was weird because I was sure he was looking right at me at the time.  After about a few minutes of this, I gave up the ghost and decided to go to the Gap to buy a blazer.  Well, who should I see at The Gap but Robert Redford.  Fresh from the embarrassment of not being acknowledged by Ben Stiller, I decided not to wave at Robert Redford.  You could imagine my surprise when he actually started waving at me and smiling.  I think I was so surprised that I didn't react to his waving.  It seemed to have really unnerved him, and he left The Gap for the Banana Republic which, I think I failed to mention, was across the way from the Gap, so it was right next door.  After recovering from the incident, I decided on the blazer I wanted and left The Gap with it in a shopping bag.  I remember it was in a bag because I told the cashier to put it in a bag and that I'd wash it and dry it at home, regardless of whether or not it was dry-clean only.  On the way out of the Gap, I caught a fleeting glimpse of Redford and Stiller looking at some dress socks at Banana Republic.  To make a long story short, I never saw them again.

Hey, hold on.  Don't try to apply facts to his impression of Chicago style politics.  To the politically impaired anything you don't like is Chicago politics even if it happens everywhere, or just in a few places and not Chicago.  The blind hatred of all that is Chicago is a shield against all facts.

FFS, he wasnt even born here!
1985-1988 - 3 years as a community organizer - job training and college prep. really radical stuff there - zero politics
1991 - returned from law school
1992 - voter registration - read - getting more black people to vote!! DANGEROUS RADICAL
1992-1996 teacher at UofC - radical teachers are evil, but still not really chicago politics
oooo civil rights legislation lawyer - wait, that isnt chicago politics, wanting rights for black people??
97-04 illiinois state senate - south side - not really chicago politics ...
04 US senate - not really chicago politics

yes, he knows the chicago elite and got money and help from them ... but still ...

I guess it is because he is black .... LOL

Look, I understand that nobody likes lawyers.  I get it.

But really, what do you really think would happen if we got rid of them all?  Do you idiots really think we'll turn into some socialist/libertarian (pick your flavor) utopia?  Wrong.  What do you do when someone breaks a contract?  Kills your kid?  Embezzles your retirement fund?  As bad as lawyers are, we kind of need them.

This is part of why I think a basic legal education (reading laws and court decisions, making contracts, etc) should be part of a basic high school curriculum.  Much like computers, math, and english.  Our civics courses (assuming they even have those.  Mine BARELY did) are not enough.

When did I say anything about it being about race?

bmongar: When did I say anything about it being about race?

where did I say that you did?
if you look closer, you will notice that the WHOLE thread was quoted
which includes the tard who brought up chicago.

my other question, which is still out there, is:
when did this HATING on chicago pick up so much steam? (other than hating our pizzas)
2007/2008?

I dont remember this much "CHICAGO POLITICS" before then and I have been around awhile.
Always had the feel of we cant call him black, so lets use "chicago politics" as a label.

Hell, I never associated President Obama with any Chicago Politics.
Jackson and his ilk were clearly chicago black politicians. President Obama was always an elite liberal outsider.  :D

Ahh, your "and it is all because obama is black? "  seemed like a rhetorical question implying that I had implied that it was all about race.  Chicago Politics is the replacement for Clinton Political Machine.  Basically any time republicans are getting out maneuvered on something they need to name some ominous sounding political cabal to blame.

"The so-far-unexplained killing of a prosecutor involved in such a high profile case is likely to excite Pakistan's national penchant for conspiracy theories."

Because who could imagine that there was a conspiracy in a case like this?  Clearly, these were just some teens out for a shootin' joyride, or else carjackers who forgot to take the car, or maybe they thought they were on a target range.

But two or more people planning to kill the procecutor of the Bhutto murder?  COME ON.
