Hold up. "First season"? How culturally behind the rest of the world is Canada? Do they think boy bands are super hip right now?

What have its viewers done to merit such mercy?

This show lasts about 11 weeks, airing three times a week, plus 3 hours live on Showtime for 70 days.  That is almost 250 hours broadcast a season.  For comparison Firefly had 14 hours.  That means this show has a run about 18 times longer than Firefly's every season.

Personally, I think being culturally behind is not a bad thing. Unlike Americans, we don't care abut crap like this

FTA: "To date one in six Canadians have sampled Big Brother Canada with over 2.7 million coming to it weekly."  Considering the population of the US is about 1/9, that is the equivalent of over 24 million coming to it weekly.  One in six translates to the equivalent of about 52 million Americans checking it out.  So, you're wrong.

The above 1/9 was supposed to compare the population of Canada (about 34 million) to the US (about 311 million).

yah, the article is full of shiat.  AMA 1032 means roughly 1.032 million viewers, to start.  Second there's a lot of things to remember about how flawed those rating things are (it assumes 2.7 viewers per watcher...yah farkin right the whole family is watching that crap) but if this helps deflate the heinous accusation that Canadians are just as dumb-struck over this sort of bullshiat:  In that same week "The bible" got an AMA of 1047, Two and a half men got AMA 1519 and Big Bang theory got AMA 2005.  If you're going to make fun of Canada over its viewing habits, stick to our apparently poor taste in sit-coms.  What's more telling is I decided to go directly to the source of these numbers and look at a few weeks around that particular cherry-picked stat and guess what:  Big Brother Canada didn't even rank.

Article is full of shiat, and now I need a drink for learning way too much about a topic I dislike immensely :P
