I'm gonna guess you're living in scenic Trailer Park, South Flyover.   In North Jersey teachers making $100K are common as herpes sores at a porn star convention.

I'm gonna guess you're full of shiat because here in California, in the bay area, even the highest paid districts in the State start new teachers at $40-50k, and only people that stay for 40-50 years ever really reach the six figure mark.

StupidFly: Is Texas similar to the other "Consent Under 18" states, where they cannot be in a position of authority over the minor? I know in MN, the age of consent is 16 unless it is a teacher, manager, etc.

There's a specific provision that forbids anyone who works at a primary or secondary school from having sex with any student at that school unless they're married or close in age and had been dating before the employee was hired.  Interestingly, there's no age limitation at all.

Tenured teachers in this area (Chicago suburbs) often earn 6 figures. She is 25 and already teaching high school. The term lucrative is subjective, but she did have some nice earning potential.

75 year old tenured teachers sometimes reach 6 figures.  The payscale for a teacher who's been there a couple years most likely puts her at $40-50k (at most).  That's not much money for somebody who has spent at least 5 years getting a degree and credential, racking up loans.  Far from lucrative.

There are teachers here in their early 40s making six figures. A lot of them.  What this one was earning this year wasn't really the meaning of the expression "lucrative career".

I am not going to worry about teachers or lifeguards or whomever else making 6 figures until people rise up and start killing CEO's French Revolution style.

In fact, depending on how they got there, this is closer to the way I think things should work.  So many jobs reward the top performers with promotions to jobs to which they are less suited.  If you get a good sales person, a good janitor, a good phone rep, don't promote them, pay them like they've been promoted and keep them where they excel.  Some people who can't get out of their own way pushing a broom would probably make great supervisors.  And they should be paid according to how good they are as well.

Southern100: TheOriginalEd: 25 year olds should not be teaching highschool. Theyre still teenagers at that point. Around 30 where the teenage antics start to repulse people.. thats when they should be allowed to be highschool teachers.

I was thinking the same thing.. I know in my high school, the *youngest* teacher was in their 50s. Most of the younger ones were teaching grade school & middle school.

Pffft...I had the same second grade teacher that my dad had, but I did help her with her walker.

Did have a junior high teacher that had been in penthouse.  Her pics went up in the bathroom every year.

Even if that district wasn't paying the same kind of money that teachers get in the NYC metro area, it's still foolish to throw away a job like that.  How many jobs today offer 25 year old employees both health care and a defined pension benefit plan?  How many jobs offer tuition reimbursement?  How many jobs have summer off, as well as every holiday from Arbor Day to Festivus?

You're the one with reading comprehension deficiencies, "dumbass".  That was then.  Nowadays  most of the teachers around here start off at $45K-$50K, and are over $100K after 10 years.

It took her 35 years to reach six figures.  Show me any official payscale that would get a public school teacher to 100k in 10 years.  You have to be a troll ... no way someone can be that stupid.

Also ... trailer-ville?  Talk about jumping to conclusions.  I live in a million dollar property in California (meanwhile it seems you're proud of being Jersey trash?) and I've been making six figures since my 5th year out of college working as an engineer.  You don't know shiat about shiat, just admit it.

"Susan LiBrizzi, a divorced mother of four, earns $61,798  ...  has taught for 14 years "

Yeah ... it looks like NJ districts are not incomparable to other school districts near the coasts.  So again: you are full of shiat, and I am right.  Stop acting like teaching is some baller career path.  Where I live, $60k is damn near poverty.

I'm sure you're a super genius who graduated from Oxford when you were 14 years old.

You wanna talk about reading comprehension?  Go back and reads what I wrote.  Teachers in NORTHERN NEW JERSEY,not the entire state. Northern NJ is that part that is located NEXT TO NEW YORK CITY.You know, that little town where a "genius" like you wouldn't last 6 months.  Apparently geography is something else that you have difficulty with.

As for the link you posted, go back and have a good look at the stats. HALF OF NJ TEACHERS EARNING MORE THAN $100K WORK IN NORTHER NJ.In other words, teachers making $100K around here are as common as internet commandos claiming to be making over $100K and living in million dollar houses 6 months after graduating from college.

Apparently you can't read charts either otherwise you would have seen that basically all NJ teachers are starting at the first column between $40-50k ... like I said.  That's where the woman in TFA would have still been given her age ... like I said.

So,
Reading comprehension: fail
Math: fail

I sure hope you're not a teacher, because you're a real dumbass ... like I said.

I don't care what you think I make or where I live ... you seem to be happy being a punk ass little piece of jersey trash, so good for you.  Keep on assuming everyone else is white trash in some "flyover" and Jersey is where they wish they could be (lulz).  Regardless of WHERE you live, teachers make the bare minimum that they can practically live on for that area.  So if you live in Manhattan and teachers make 100k (they don't, only 2% do and they're OOoold) ... their standard of living is still shiat because of cost of living.  In any case ... that's a farking pittance, not a "lucrative career".

.

Gotta love dumbasses typing in all caps.  The data that I found (because you are too stupid) shows that 2% of teachers in Jersey make $100k (obviously those near the top of the pay scale nearing retirement).  Your assertion that "half of NJ teachers earning more than $100k work in Northern NJ" (not typed in retard case) is obviously true ... they other half are in the South (obviously).  To dumb it down for your simple mind:  draw a pie that represent all the teachers making $100k, now cut it in half into a North and a South half.  Now eat it you fat retard, and stop wasting my time.

Yeah, half of all NJ teachers making over $100K are working in Bergen and Passaic Counties....2 counties out of 21.  So you're an engineer who never took a statistics course?  Just what engineering school did you graduate from?  Dumb-fark Polytechnic?
