If you've ever REALLY hurt yourself-done the kind of damage to yourself  that requires serious medical attention, you know the scariest thing is how much it DOESN'T hurt/  You KNOW something is seiously wrong but there is no Pain, and that when you know it's bad, really bad

THIS.  I haven't lost a limb or anything, but I'd been in situations where I knew it was supposed to hurt, but other factors take hold and you just don't feel it.

the pain comes later though...

Exactly.  Ive done some serious damage to my hand with some woodworking tools, to the point I can see bone, and there's lots of blood, and the first thing in my mind, after "Wow, that was stupid" was "Hm, this doesnt hurt as much as it should".

But later..when the ER doc was poking around reassembling things...

When I was a kid I cut my knee open on some glass. The first thing I remember doing is looking down and seeing about 2" into my leg.  Scared the crap out of me.  Didn't hurt at all as far as I can remember.

I was in Boy Scouts, so I knew some basic first aid.  When the paramedic was bandaging up my leg and getting me ready to go to the hospital, I was shaking pretty badly. I wasn't freaked out or anything. I remember saying, "Cool! I'm going into shock!"

/First thing my mom said to me, "Get off the carpet!"

I did something similar a few year ago with a utility knife.  I thought I'd be ok until I felt myself going into shock.  I ended up driving myself to the emergency room.

The doctor actually asked me if it was due to domestic violence.  I couldn't stop laughing.

You lost several pints of blood from a utility knife? I'm impressed. Or is it possible you were just in emotional shock? The guy in the wheelchair was in the circulatory, life threatening kind of shock.

A Fb friend/teabagger was parroting this earlier.. Sad.. The guy's a former Marine medic, too, and should know better.

It's one thing to have political convictions, but it's definitely a borderline mental illness when you're willing to suspend reality to maintain belief in your cause..

was refering to it being similar to what Honest Bender did with the glass cutting him, not similar to having my legs blown off.

Of course, publicly spouting this kind of idiocy will mean she'll promptly be run out of office in the next election by the voters, assuming the legislature doesn't expel her first.

HA! No, just kidding. It's funny because in reality this will have no consequences for her whatsoever.

This is such a great nation we have isn't it? The way everyone has an equal footing, that the mentally incompetent and infirmerd are not only iin trusted with a vote, but are also allowed to hold public office.

true equality..

quite inspiring actually

For the amount of people in the New Hampshire Legislature, I should run since it's be simpler to get elected. The problem is that I'm a liberal democrat (not Mass liberal democrat but still a liberal democrat) living in a conservative part of the state.

I was riding my motorcycle up in the mountains and hit a rock slide at about 50mph.  It knocked me onto the shoulder and I hit a boulder about the size of an end table and flipped ass over teakettle.  I landed on my right hip.  It was bad enough that once I got to the hospital they thought I'd broken my spine and shattered my pelvis, but luckily neither was the case.  I felt okay, no real pain, and I walked around for about five minutes until people made me sit down.

Very unCSB

I know there is no arguing with crazy, so this woman just needs to be cast aside and forgotten, but I'm wondering what exactly she is alleging here?

If the guy wasn't really hurt, was he an actor? Are we supposed to think that the government didn't place real explosives, but fabricated the whole thing to just look real, injuries and all?

If that's not the case, and the government supposedly did plant real bombs, then why does that guy's injuries (or lack thereof) lend any proof to government involvement or not? If it was a real bomb, people would really be hurt whether the government planted it or not.

Normally I understand what conspiracy theorists are at least nominally trying to prove, with this, I honestly don't know what point her "evidence" is trying to make.

Aar1012:

Does New Hampshire really need a 424 person legislature? The New Hampshire General Court is only surpassed in numbers by the UK Parliament, Indian Parliament, and the US Congress, FFS. And those bodies represent millions (or a billion, in the case of India) of people. New Hampshire has 1.3 million people.

2013-05-02 06:41:57 PM
Thankfully, the US electorate will remember these crazy, insensitive remarks, and surely penalize her by not re-electing her.
