Please send some "Go Home" kitty vibes up my way. Just got off of the phone. Apparently my dad had to have one of his world famous pissy fits and in the process, apparently one of the cats got out and mom can't find him. So then I get a phone call about it and now I'm pissy because its after 10 at night and I live an hour away.

ugh, anyways, need vibes telling Dewey to get his scrawny butt home or I'm eating his chicken......

That's because shopping in the Women's section goes a bit like:

"Ugly, ugly, poor quality, will not fit a normal human, uncomfortable, also uncomfortable, sh*tty quality and materials, REALLY ugly, clearly designed to fit a Barbie doll, how the hell do you even put that on, overpriced garbage..."

It took me an hour to find some f*cking khaki slacks a few months ago. Plain, 100% cotton, comfortable khakis. All of the "pants" in the women's section were sh*tty polyester-blends (without a strand of cotton in sight) that were poorly stitched together and didn't fit at all. I went over to the men's section and in a few minutes had three different styles that I tried on for best fit and looks, which were more durable and comfortable than the women's, and fit properly. Fark women's styles so much. Especially shoes. NEVER AGAIN. (Even for high heels, my friend recommended me to a site that caters to drag queens, because I have BIG FEET.)

*crawls in the thread*  Hi everyone. Sorry I have been absent alot the last few weeks. Lots going on in Becca Land. My Mom is having spinal surgery on the 13th, so I am heading to Michigan on the 11th and will be with her for 5 weeks. There is a 50/50 chance she could come out of this paralyzed.  I will check in on Caturday when I can. I was just up there 2 weeks ago to see my new grandson. I am stressed beyond my limits. Even my "happy pills" aren't taking the stress away. I want to scream, cry, and knock the shiat out of something. My brother lives about 30 minutes away from my parents, and can't be nice enough to help out. He will come and see mom and dad, but as far as this surgery aftercare goes, he will be of no help. I guess he feels its easier for me to drive 9 hours one way to do it. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have it any other way. I love my parents and will do what ever I have to. I am feeling guilt along with the stress, because I will be leaving my husband alone for 5 weeks. I know, he can take care of himself, he can cook, clean, and would make someone a wonderful house husband. So I don't know why I am feeling so guilty. My poor cat is going to wonder what the hell happened to me. Maybe this isn't the place to vent, and I am sorry about that. It was either come in here and vent, or vent at my husband. He knows how difficult I am having it right now, so I hate to make him worry more. Forgive me for all the words if I post a cat pic??

So much this, I hate shopping for clothes. I find I have better luck at the local 2nd hand shops for my day to day stuff, better quality and much lower price. Can almost always find stuff to fit that still has the original tags. Malls make me crazy(er). Can't find what I want, can't figure out how to get in and out of their "fashions". Recall a time or two getting trapped in garments in the dressing room and calling my daughter in to release me before I used a pocket knife to remodel the darned things. Hate microfibers, dislike clothing that sticks to me. Where has all the cotton gone? Men's stuff doesn't fit me well so I sometimes resort to making my own clothing. Its not fair!

Thank you, but I have the references locked up, I imagine. I am involved in several charitable and community outreach organizations including one for service learning to help shelter animals get adopted. At the least, Special will have a great home whether with me or someone more qualified. My only fortunate is the majority of folks more qualified often have pets whereas I currently have none.

Wash it out with saline (the kind you use for contact lenses, IMHE, every cat owner should have a bottle just in case...), and then wait. I personally would not use any meds meant for humans without checking with a vet...just my 2¢

Been kinda busy since a little after 7.  Got a call from my Mom about then. Dad was short of breath and ambition-less to the point where he wanted to go the ER (and not by driving himself). They called an ambulance and they were just pulling out when I got there to get Mom. He apparently has fluid in his lungs and this short of breath thing has been going on for a couple MONTHS  :(  He's ok, staying overnite, flirting with the nurses. They are fairly sure he can come home tomor...er, later today.

Even after telling him at 9:45 that he'd be an overnite guest it was still 11 before they moved him upstairs.

I have never been greeted when arriving home as lovingly or enthusiastically by any other living thing as I was by her. What a void.

SweetBecca I am sorry to hear of your woes. It is hard enough to watch our parents age, but to become the primary care giver is very difficult indeed. Please remember to use any community respite agency. They come innfor an hour or two so that you can have some down time. Hugs to you.
