Sickapie: How was the work week?
lilyspad: Yeah, Yobbery!! How did it go on Tuesday???? Inquiring minds, and all that..... :D

I'm not concerned about losing my job at this point, but they're torturing everyone by slowly releasing info. So far, what's known is we're going to merge IT staff with another facility. My boss will be re-assigned to manage a couple of other facilities. They still haven't said a peep about what they're doing with the rest of us. However there is nothing to suggest that anyone won't have place to sit. We don't have enough staff as it stands (not that that ever really mattered.)

It's almost like they just threw a deck of cards into the air thinking they would all land in a neat pile. I really don't believe they've thought this through. Morale has been completely destroyed and I'm not sure it can be repaired at this point.

Finally made it in, but Pix Are Prohibited, it's hoped only temporarily. Tho may be the same futzment others receive, & not my dying computer, which any second now may sing Bb above middle C at me & turn itself off.  Dying computer also delights in playing Toyota ad for me, but not the cute kitties vid.
Liked the Ears, Face & Toes by lilyspad at 8:28PM too.

Wow.  That was the one thing I hated when I had my last job.  I worked for a bank and they were doing heavy layoffs.  No one knew who was going to get canned.  That's the way things went for months; they did it that way because they could.  They weren't the ones who's jobs were at stake.  Everyone walked with their heads down; and like you said, morale was down the toilet.  But, I'm glad that you're not concerned at this point.  That's at least one thing you can not stress about.

I hope that things work out.

Yea, it has been one of those weeks.  Not too bad overall now that my allergies are somewhat contained, but then I had the brilliant idea that I would go to the DMV to register one of our vehicles that we haven't driven in over 2 years.  Well....I went at lunch time which is usually an ok time to go but they had moved.  I didn't see any notice in the paper, but oh well I guess they had to do it.  They were just around the corner and it looked kind of busy in the parking lot, then I noticed that there was a whole other huge parking lot on the other side of the building.  Yeah well, I took a number and it was #234.  Turns out they were only up to #125 !?!?!?!?!?!?  Oh yeah, and there were only 2 people working the counters and 2 more milling around. Needless to say I left.  Same long lines in the one in the next town over today.  I guess I have to get there at 8 am when they open tomorrow if I want to get this done.

My sister had a Collie with a similar problem with his back legs. I think the only problem he had was he never learned to lift his leg and when he was around 13 he quit going to the second floor because he couldn't do the steps anymore. He was about 16 when he left us. He was quite active chasing and "herding" the kids in the neighborhood when it was time for them to come home.

Bless me, Caturday people, for I am confused (read: 'conflicted').

That mean, aggressive feral tomcat crossed the line today...beat up D'Artagnan when he (D'Artagnan) was trying to come inside.
I called Animal Control, they delivered the Hav-a-hart trap about noon. Had him trapped by 3:30, and they came and they took him away. No 'Ha-HA!' about it, however...

When I saw him in the trap, I just felt bad for the poor bastard...and I feel guilty, because I know what's going to happen to this hostile, aggressive, probably sick cat.

If he'd just gotten on with his feral routine, I wouldn't have had a problem, but I've spent over $200 dollars at the vet because of this cat...and that's NOT counting paying for the spaying of the original 'attractant' (next-door neighbor's queen-in-heat). It's not the money; it's what my poor cats have suffered (e.g., injury, having to visit the vet, treatment, etc.).

I still don't feel 'good' about this.

I know my cats (ALL the neighborhood cats) will be MUCH happier; it had gotten to the point where Riktor, Wimsey and Raven didn't want to go outdoors. After the cat had been trapped (but before AC came to pick him up), they went up to the trap (while keeping a safe distance) and just stared at him for a few minutes before sauntering off.
Pretty sure they knew what was going on...and there'll be a kitty performance of "Ding-dong, the bastard's GONE!" among the neighborhood felines tonight.

D'Artagnan seems to be OK aside from a pulled muscle or two...his gait is 'off', but there don't seem to be any wounds. Still going to keep an eye on him. I gave him some of Riktor's arthritis homeopathic medicine, and he did the 'slow blink' at me after I'd done so.

I am being summoned by Riktor, who wants a lap...
Thanks for letting me vent...I KNOW you folks will understand.

Lousy mobile.
This past week, it has wanted to change all kinds of words to Espanol.
I have no idea why, the language is set to English. But in the process
of trying to rectify a missed "Spanglish substitution", it cut off the *end* of the post.

I for one support your actions.

I have a "tom" who has declared my house his safe food and shelter spot.
luckily, he's not aggressive with my 6 residents. he's getting along with everyone here fine,
but every day when he shows up for breakfast he has new wounds. he's fighting something, somewhere...
he's very socialized-not feral, but an intact tom. I'm gonna have to spring to get him snipped. for his own good. and pay for his shots. but I can't take him in-I can't afford to. (damnit) but maybe he'll
find a good home if he's not fighting so much. I'm gonna check with my no-kill shelter to see if they can help relocate him. he'll have to go to a family who can let him go out

OlderGuy: crotchgrabber: Brother in law had a cat like that. He was a stray that just kinda moved in with him. Got named "Freaky" and he could hunt. Every day he littered the yard with the corpses of his vanquished foes.
Watching him run was highly entertaining.

I bet it was.. Trip has a damaged front leg.. radial nerve damage... paw is bent at 90 degrees.. he can't climb, but jumping and running are not a problem.. gets it hung up on things sometimes..

That is an absolutely adorable photo!  My nearly 3 year old Abby will come up to me or hubby when she is feeling cuddly and will stretch her front legs up against your leg until we pick her up. Then she proceeds up to the shoulder and her motor starts.  How can you not love that?  She has done this since she was 6 weeks old. Just adorable.

Not a bad week, feeling good. The knuckle injury still hasn't healed over properly yet because I keep (accidentally) ripping it open. I am SUCH a klutz. Gonna look wicked kewl when it (eventually) heals over, though!

In addition to fixing the dryer (which apparently wasn't happy about it!), I constructed a "kitty cave" for the boys out of spare blankets and the box from the new vacuum cleaner. They love spending time with us, but all cats need a hidey-hole for some quiet time. It reminds me a bit of the one we built for them when we first adopted them because we wanted to give them a place to hide away from us as they acclimatized to their forever-home. Sassy immediately began exploring it as soon as I got it tucked against the wall, and earlier today I noticed that it had been knocked askew. Yay! :)

i60.photobucket.com

Sassy normally is the one that chills out/in the bookshelf, but Sonny gave it a try the other day. I don't think he was that enamored. (I've really got to use a proper camera instead of my phone. :-\)

i60.photobucket.com

Off to make a salad before bed (the mixing bowl is finally clean, yay), see you lot tomorrow. Oh, and I saw a few of these scattered around Delta campus last week. My friend took one. YOU NEVER KNOW. :)

He reminds me a little of my Vince.  Vince is also quite "special," though physically normal.  Such a character.  Here he is obsessing with the sink again:
