From google...looks like the reboot will be out in 2015. A few months after Avengers 2. Good planning Fox. Going from well done Marvel movies to your dreck. Except for the last Xmen movie which wasnt bad. Seriously why doesnt Disney just buy them out by now!

Oh that's rich!  If "Avengers 2" hits all the right notes, Fox better be prepared for the sh*tstorm if "Fantastic Four" is anything less than great.

Unless Disney paid a king's random and a portion of the box office revenues, I doubt Fox would give them up at all.

R Kelly's Doo Doo Butter: I haven't read comics since I was a kid in the mid 90's, and was thinking about jumping back in. What's currently worth getting into in the marvel universe?

Hawkeye (yes really, My Life as  Weapon is awesome), Daredevil, Avengers, New Avengers (basically the adventures of the Illuminati), Indestructible Hulk (Banner is a WMD that works for SHEILD)

2013-05-02 03:47:25 PM
Avengers I'd rather see in the movie that Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver: Black Panther, Wasp, Vision, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, the Scott Lang Ant-Man (we can skip Mr. Domestic Violence).

Of course, I'd really want to see the characters they don't have rights to (Spider-man, Wolverine, Fantastic Four cross-overs, etc.)

Guardians of the Galaxy
All New X-Men (the original teen X-Men brought to modern day)
Wolverine and the X-Men
Superior Spider-Man, if you know the backstory on the current storyline

and if they ever actually get it launched, X-Men (adjectiveless...it's an all female cast)

Plus, it's in its own little world most of the time.

/don't bother with DC.

I'd rather have that and what's being done in "Captain Marvel" over anything Liefeld puts out.  Crap is hideous.

/and, oh yeah! GREG LAND TOO! PORN TRACER!

2013-05-02 04:06:52 PM

BafflerMeal: I've felt they should have a second tier of direct to video or tv shows that focuses on the street-level heros.  The cost would be much less than all the special effects used in the AAA titles.  I would completely watch a Marvel 'underverse' with anthologized Punisher/Dare Devil/Blade/and occasional Ghost Rider.../here's hoping some of this happens in the new tv show.

The thing that has surprised me is that something like this hasn't been done because you could deliberately make episodes in the tv series that basically work as adverts/links to a movie - basically when the movie is complete and ready for release in a few weeks, you feed in a tv episode or two where the major characters join the plots of the tv series with the more minor heroes that generally feature in it, they kick ass for those couple of episodes, and hey look there is a movie out this weekend with that hero...

I've heard rumors of a Flash solo movie for awhile now. Problem is, the Flash doesn't really have the rich history of memorable stories a lot of the other DC core characters have.

I think it could work adapting "Born to Run" as the first movie/origin, seguing into the "Rebirth" storyline for movie two. People might be confused having two Flashes, but whatever. Both of those stories capture the essence of Flash.

Love to see Flashpoint also, but I'm not quite sure how that would work.

/and as a bonus, if "Born to Run" works well it could be a great way to move towards a Teen Titans movie, which would be freakin' awesome and vastly superior to any JL movie in the works.

I find it sad that they're passing up on a golden opportunity:
The Hank Pym story.
Ant Man to Giant Man to Hercules to Yellowjacket
He created Ultron, TWICE
His wife had to deal with his mental state
He had numerous nervous breakdowns.

This would make for an excellent set of movies. The Scarlet Witch? Really? Did they totally gloss over the cannon and just look for more T&A?

On the 'scratchy'...  I may be influenced by the international stuff I've been reading.  For instance I love Luc Jacamon's work on The KIller and Cyclops:

Well, actually, I take that back... the "scratchy" stuff has its place... books like Alias, Manhunter (both of which were drawn at some point by Michael Gaydos)... those are stories that work well with the kind of atmosphere that comes along with the scratchy, muddy colored art.

But Hawkeye and Spider-Man? Those characters deserve big, bright, splashy, comic book art.
