That's OK, we weren't talking about gender bias anyhow.

Well, there are issues that people don't cover, ranging from males encompassing the most homeless, most suicides, lower numbers in college and graduate programs, most on the job injuries and fatalities, pressured to work more hours, and a lower life expectancy that all to often gets blown off by people pushing the "suck it up" gender trope.

Maybe because the issues that women generally have to face in most societies are more significant and damaging and thus the plight of the male is given less priority? If I have a hangnail and a broken leg I am going to worry about the hangnail later.

Do South and Central American people consider themselves Western? I always assumed they had their own thing going on. I googled it and the first page Bing churned out was Stormfront... so I gave it a miss.

I'm not sure who started that question, but Western civilization is the stuff descended from the Greeks and Romans. It's most the stuff in Europe except for some of the Eastern portions. It happens to be white people, yea.

Arabs? Nope. They had their own civilization. There was trading of ideas and goods for a time, but it forked at a certain point.
Native Americans? Getting destroyed and replaced doesn't count.
Central/South America? Nope. Conquered.
Asia? Obviously not.
Africa? Hehehehehe. Poor Africa.

I'd like to see how you measure this.   You've measured the totality of human inequality and have ranked it?

What a terrible method to say "Yes, thats bad, I am ignoring it because I feel like it."

What men really need to do is organize to vote more males into government so they can get better representation of their interests.

mdeesnuts: How did we go from a story about a blow job free-for-all to men's plight in society?

Sorry, my bad.

Let's see if we can get back on track:

Within half an hour the teenagers had ''propositioned'' her to engage in oral sex, she said.
Asked how she responded, the woman said: ''I'm like a happy person, so part of me is like in shock, part of me is flattered, part of me is thinking it's funny, and part of me is considering it.''

She sounds like she makes good decisions.

She told the court the act of performing oral sex on the first teenager was ''quick'' and ''followed by the other, followed by the other'' to include the other three teenagers, with ''no significant gaps in between''.

I don't know, that sounds kinda gross. I have never been a fan of sloppy seconds.

/Australia, so it's hard to attribute American biases here, but still...

The US is pretty strict and inflexible in enforcement of age of consent laws compared to a lot of western countries. Prosecution guidelines in the UK are, or were, along the lines of "We're really busy over here in the courthouse so don't waste our time on some dumbass whose girlfriend is a few months shy of her birthday unless there are other aggravating factors involved"

My very point - it's hard for me to become "outraged" at this, because many other countries are less uptight when it comes to post-pubescent sexual relations. I can't apply America's biases here - it's sleazy, but that's about it.

Incomplete theory. The puzzling part isn't that she's borking a bunch of dudes, it's that she's borking a bunch of adolescent kids.

Just about any woman, even a rather...undesirable one...could easily arrange this with people who actually know what they're doing and won't get her arrested. Instead she's targeting teenagers and is creeping them out with her fixation, even by the usually somewhat creepy standards of teenage relationships.

It takes a special kind of personality to want to stay in your teens as long as possible.

Why do you think most school teachers are women in this day and age?

2013-05-02 03:41:29 PM

jst3p: people: jst3p: I am too lazy to google it out but perhaps the laws vary from province (or state, whatever they have)? I highly doubt the law allows men to be identified and women not to be under the same circumstances.

First google hit. Same city even. A New South Wales man, accused of trapping and sexually abusing a young boy at his Central Coast home at the weekend, has denied the allegations.
36-year-old Kwai Newman

Gender imbalances are patently obvious in the courts. Most of the prisoners are male. Why is that? US?
A new study by Sonja Starr, an assistant law professor at the University of Michigan, found that men are given much higher sentences than women convicted of the same crimes in federal court.

The study found that men receive sentences that are 63 percent higher, on average, than their female counterparts.

Starr also found that females arrested for a crime are also significantly more likely to avoid charges and convictions entirely, and twice as likely to avoid incarceration if convicted.

Other research has found evidence of the same gender gap, though Starr asserts that the disparity is actually larger than previously suspected because other studies haven't looked at the role of plea bargains and other pre-sentencing steps in the criminal justice system.

Just recently, two stories came out in the same UK news outlet (BBC) on gender and prison. They went something like thisMale prisoners in England and Wales must work harder for privileges such as TVs in cells, the government has said.

Inmates will be made to wear a uniform during their first two weeks in jail and their access to private cash to call home will be restricted.

----

Community sentences in England and Wales are to be made more "female friendly" in an effort to keep women out of prison.
..
She says "vulnerable" women offenders need help to break the cycle of crime and abuse many of them face.

This is why men laugh at feminists.
men bought into equality along time ago.

How old is 18 really? The entire cut off age is a dumb idea.
are both parties consenting? Has puberty occured in both parties? Have the parties been given sex education?

if the answer to all of these is yes. Than i dont see what the big deal is.

Perhaps something along the lines of no more than a 4 year age gap between parties till they reach age of majority?
