Bullshiat. And bullshiat.

Oh boxing...such an engaging sport ruined by morons in pimp suits.  If only they had business sense American would think homoerotic crotch-grabbing was "bad ass" sport.

That was a pretty sick burn by Guererro senior.

"The guy was saying, 'Hit me here, hit me here.' It ain't no promotion. This is real, real as it comes. He tells me to hit him in the jaw. I'm not going to. I don't fight no more, but I still know how to use my hands and they would've called these things concealed weapons."

I'll take, "Things people say before they get their asses kicked" for 1000, Alex.

Guerrero Sr. Is just getting his fifteen minutes in. I wouldn't be surprised if he means it though, he seems like the kind of idiot thug that thinks that because he beat another idiot thug he could take on anyone, including people with actual fighting experience. See "Kimbo Slice" for further reference.

At least he's not the kind of idiot that beats women.

Is anyone here actually going to watch that fight?    I have a feeling the press conference was the most exiting part.

Flying into Vegas on Saturday morning to catch it, then flying out on Sunday morning.

Not sure what you mean by "exiting"; I'd say it was more entering.

Maybe, but it's not appointment viewing. Outside of May/Pac, May/Canelo, or Pac/Marquez, I can't see myself ever again making it a point to watch boxing.

Well he was a professional boxer. Not a good one, but still.

I am very jealous.  I was just in Vegas a few weeks ago and cant afford to go back so soon.  The big fights are expensive, but I still want to see one major fight in person.  Got to see Carlin on my birthday 10 or so years ago.  I collect memories and experiences over material things.

No he wasn't. He never turned pro, while Mayweather was a pretty decent B-level fighter.

Well the article says Guererro Sr.'s professional record was 0-7 with 6 knockouts.

Team Guerrero just came out and said Ruben never turned pro. This sort of confusion happens a lot in databases like boxrec since they have a very extensive set of data, so common names tend to repeat more than once.

And this is why boxing fails lately - the need to manufacture drama. This isn't the WWE, folks, but between the posturing before the "fight" and the fixed judges calling the "fight", we're almost to the point where it's pointless to watch a boxing match for the fight itself.

People in this thread

JorgiX: Kimbo

Wouldn't it be funny if after getting exposed in MMA, Kimbo has since gone on to an undefeated boxing career?  Yeah, that would be hilarious.
