I think someone's going to be offered a tidy little out-of-court settlement in the very near future. And Ed Dahlberg, the assailant, is not just an "aviation executive." He's the president of Emerald Aviation, whose website is very curiously undergoing "maintenance" right now that will apparently take 3 days to finish. And the very rich residents of the very white town of Clifton, VA, are about to get very, very annoyed at all the news trucks driving through their little woodsy enclave.

Let me guess.  You are going to castigate the Christian conservative movement, while embracing violent Muslim jihadists.  That is because you have drank the liberal Kool-Aid of multiculturalism, and do not understand what the hell you are talking about.

Those people will not be satisfied until they overthrow the government of the United States of America and replace our precious republic with a ruthless theocracy.  There will be no distinction between civil law and the brutal demands of their bizarre Middle Eastern deity.  They will attempt to forcibly convert you to their harsh and antiquated religion.  Anybody who does not bow down to their religious authority will be persecuted, or will at best be treated as a second class citizen. They will not tolerate dissent, and history has shown that they will gladly resort to confiscation of property, imprisonment, exile, torture, and even execution of citizens who do not submit to the dictates of their religion.  Women will be reduced to the status of property, and the practice of slavery could very well resume, as it is explicitly permitted in their holy scriptures.

How does that sound to you, libtardos?  Because the Muslim theocracy will be even worse!

Let's face it.  A solid 25% of Americans, and that is probably the ratio here at Fark, believe that "Muslim" means "plotting to murder me right now."  We live in a country that has a sizeable minority of people who are completely batshiat insane, and some of them are going to read my comment and think, "When are you going to wake up to the widespread conspiracy HRRRR DRRRR."

Yank out the word "Communist" and stick in "Muslim" and it's exactly like it was when I was a kid.  Dr. Strangelove.  We have to kill them all in order to prevent them from killing us.

I heard a piece on NPR last night with two analysts, fair-and-balanced style, and one of them (who wants boots on the ground in Syria right now) accused the other of "supporting and favoring the Assad regime."  The other got increasingly annoyed until he said, "I don't support the Assad regime.  I just don't want us to get into another quagmire in Syria like we had in Iraq."  That made the chickenhawk pause for a moment, then all he could say is, "Your policy isn't working."

"Your policy isn't working"="we need to do Iraq all over again, every time there's HRRRR DRRRR."

Batshiat insane.  We have to kill them all in order to prevent them from killing us.  If you don't support this, then you are giving aid and comfort to The Enemy.

I think communicating the concept of jihad as a personal struggle against ignorance as opposed to holy war against the unbeliever is one of the most important ideas Muslims could try and convey to others, maybe just not while the others are drunk and belligerent.

In an ideal little dream world, an American is someone who believes in equality, justice, and pluralism; describing someone as a "'mericun" and so forth is done to convey the discrepancy.

I don't condone physical injury as a judicial punishment--let his cellmates take care of that extra-judicially.  I would like to see wealthy, privileged people serve jail sentences--even short ones--rather than pay restitution or do "community service".  Monetary penalties are too often treated as "just one of those things" by those who can afford to pay them (some businesses even budget for them), and a stint of community service isn't as bad if you don't have to worry about getting fired from your regular job because you're the boss.  Jail time is more egalitarian.  In fact, a wealthy man should be scared shiatless by the prospect of a 30 day stretch during which he cannot pull his money out of a tanking stock market or take evasive action against his wife's divorce lawyer.

I like to make speeches. They bore people, and I'm highly passive-aggressive.

Those recruiting commercials told me I am an Army of One.  So while I am an individual, I am also a collective, so to speak, because the US Army is an agency of the government of the United States of America, which would surely never lie to its citizens.

So when you say hurtful things about me, without knowing me at all as an individual, you are actually engaging in the collectivist bigotry you decry.

I will now scrunch up my face in sorrow like Dawson, and go and cry like an emo kid.

Your reading comprehension is extremely poor. What I am "castigating" is the prcatice of collectivist bigotry - of branding an entire community of people, be they Muslims or Christians or Conservatives or whoever, based upon the actions of a few. It is a prcatice engeged in by people who are just smart enough to distinguish between different breeds of animals, but incapable of distinguishing between individual human beings. You might try reading the actual words I have written, instead of projecting you own collectivist mentality onto me.

What none of these flailing ninnies want to face is that their habit of insisting that all Muslims are potential terrorists has had, and will continue to have, real world consequences for completely innocent individuals. But of course, bigots don't care, because they are collectivists who don't perceive human beings as individuals, no matter how much they claim to value "American Individualism". Hypocrites - every one.

The "murica" is supposed to represent the way a person with a heavy drawl might pronounce the word and is used to suggest that the person being referred to is ignorant.

"Amerika" is the German (and several other languages) spelling of the word, and is often used to imply that the US is becoming (or is currently) a police state or otherwise imply fascism. I've also seen it used to suggest the opposite political extreme of communism -- "The United Socialist States of Amerika", for example. I suppose the actual intended meaning depends on context, though it's almost always used to imply extremism. (That, or someone who is a non-English speaker made a typo. Again, context.)

That's not a terrorist. That is a disgruntled employee.

No, he's a terrorist who was working with Al-Qaeda they have his emails and other communications that prove it.

And because he exists, it's presumably OK to go around attacking innocent citizens who happen to be Muslim? That would seem to be a defense of the actual philosophy behind "terrorism".
