Because he was such a paragon of independent films before?

He may be the only good thing about a Michael Bay film.

He WAS freaking Hank McCoy/The Beast in that terrible X-Men movie.

Usually I'm just as quick to point out that 99% of Hollywood types are nothing but addiction-riddled attention whores. In the case of Kelsey Grammer... he actually did have some seriously bad stuff happen in his youth.

Doesn't excuse any of the behavior, but at least there is some explanation for it.

I wonder if the movie reviewer who wrote TFA's real name is McWeeny or if that's a pseudonym.

I also wonder why no porn star has ever used that name, it seems like it would be a natural.
Lance McWeeny. McWeeny Wood. It could even be just one name--McWeeny. Here he is, the great McWeeny.

That angle has already been covered by John Turturro.
I think these guys go into these roles hoping they don't die and be forever remembered for it. Like Raul Julia in Streetfighter with Van Damme.

Real name. He's from the Fat Ginger Boy's Ain't it Cool news site. He had a pseudonym then but used his real name when he wrote a short for a John Carpenter movie.

Just write a proper wrap up to Boss, and I don't care what movie you're in.

Thanks.

Good for him. He cut his teeth on indie television series like Cheers and Frasier, and then did art house films like Down Periscope and X-Men, so he deserves a little time in the limelight.

Y'know what, I think Kelsey Grammar is a fine actor. He's shown he can do serious drama, with things like Boss and that he has great comic timing with Sideshow Bob and Frasier/Cheers. He was, I thought, a good choice to play Hank McCoy, and frankly better than making Beast a dreamy teen heartthrob. I also think he's made some really bad choices, like Down Periscope and American Carol, whether those choices were for financial or ideological reasons. But most actors have made some really, really bad choices. Jon Turturro is a fine actor, and the world didn't end when he did Transformers. Grammar will be fine in this Transformers and the world will go on.

Smeggy Smurf: Raul asked his kids what movie should be his last before he died.  They picked Streetfighter.

and he got his kids to work with him on the project. It's all sorts of heartwarming.

Oh, and the reason why "but for me, it was tuesday" is a trope is because of Raul Julia's performance in that film. It's a rubbish film, but every moment of Raul Julia on screen is gold.

It's unfortunate that his magnificent performance happened to be in such an otherwise lousy film (the "so bad it's good" quality is almost purely due to the M. Bison character), but Raul Julia gets enough screen time to make it watchable. Julia's portrayal of M. Bison should place him in the hammy performance hall of fame alongside legends such as Vincent Price, John Carradine, and Peter Lorre.
