Black Sabbath just did a new album, but I'm not sure if that's the kind of rock you're speaking of.

I'd feel that way too if I saw the entire audience just sitting there, not even dancing let alone even standing up. I went to see Neil Diamond years ago with an old gf and her parents, just to see what it would be like. No one stood up, I've never been to a show where everyone just sits there. Don't get me wrong, it was a fine show and all the older people enjoyed it, they just enjoyed it sitting down.

Hotel California "may well be the most famous guitar solo in the history of rock. " Seriously ?

Y'know, I remember a time when things were a lot more fun around here. When good was good, and evil was evil.

AHAHAHAHA!
Oh wait, you're serious...
Let me laugh at you a little harder.

Also, Glenn Fry is a giant douchebag.

Keys dude: Hotel California "may well be the most famous guitar solo in the history of rock. " Seriously ?

Most famous  ≠ Best

If Hotel California is one of the most over-played rock songs in the history of music (thank classic rock stations for that), it is by default one of the most famous solos in its history as well. Obviously, there are better ones out there, but just not as exposed as the Eagles have turned out to be.

At least he didn't say shallow and pedantic.

You not taking the time to look for it is antithetical to it not being there.

Yeah, it used to be shoved in your face by agents/agencies (radio, mtv, tv programs*)  that have since reneged. That much is true. But real, authentic, soulful, sweaty, dirty rock and roll is being created and performed every day and night all over the world. You just have to get off your metaphorical arses and look for it these days (and pay for it and attend it.)

yeah, i didn't see it then, but that's what video and youtube are for.

As for Henley, you're better seen less and heard not at all.

Lead, follow or get the f*ck out of the way.

and you've never led.

Modern culture is a pap of homogenized sounds and thoughts engendered to keep the masses from realizing that they are farking sheep and they should appreciate their corporate shepherds.

Why do you think Maroon 5 and Nickelback are successes? It's right in their names, they're approved of by the five corporations.

I don't know.  While a lot of that pop stuff is by  photogenic but otherwise talentless hacks that have been autotuned to all sound alike, there are still some real musicians out there

The Eagles are the greatest American selling rock band of all time. They've sold more than 3 times as many records as Nirvana.

Pathetic. This planet is screwed.
