I'M SORRY RICHARD PARKER!

I like that some people are going with the "hey, free tiger" response.

I like tigers.

"Putting a radio collar on the tiger will enable us to track the feline once it is restored to its original habitat and its movement can be monitored," Orissa chief wildlife warden JD Sharme said.

The big cat had caused panic in the zoo by roaming around in an adjacent safari park for the past few
months.

Am I missing something here?

Considering all the poaching, it's probably safer for the tiger in the zoo.

I'm of the "Hey, free tiger." opinion. Especially given that the rest of the males at the zoo are related.

well, you have to believe it's true otherwise the story is a bunch of apes killing each other for no reason other than their own survival.

They keep all the exhibits they can get their hands on and they call the zoo "Animals to be eaten later."

I really liked it too, but after it was over I thought back to start of the film, and when he said he would prove that god existed, then I just thought how the film insists upon itself, if you knit pick it of coarse.

They've no need to wet their appetites.

I found it to be shallow and pedantic.

They should do what the elephant keepers in the safari parks in India and Nepal do when a wild bull elephant shows up: let him have his way with the ladies to improve the gene pool, then relocate to another location

You know as the article points out this isn't a bad thing.  The cat came in to breed and we need to save the species.  If only Pandas showed the same initiative  they might not be going extinct.

Life would be a lot more interested if we had more large predators just roaming around. Might not have the obesity epidemic we do if people occasionally had to outrun a saber tooth tiger or take cover from a haasts eagle.

Yes, nit.  I was kinda joking about the 'insists' part.  The film was so good I forgot about that first part before he began the story, but when I did realize to myself and thought, gee, does that mean I have acknowledge god exists?  But nit picking aside, it was a great movie that I think I'll watch again tonight.

FTFA: "If the male tiger is retained in the zoo, it would widen the gene pool and infuse new blood into the tiger conservation and breeding programme at the park..." The zoo at present has 24 tigers and officials say all male tigers there are descendants of one male tiger who was brought into the park in 1965.

This is one of the best things I've read recently about tiger preservation. Diversity in the gene pool, and all that. Heck, if a wild tiger (well, they're all wild, but you know...) wants to mate with another tiger in the zoo, let him! The world needs more tigers (in my opinion, at least).

Must've been a Mormon missionary tiger.
