There's a National Women's Soccer League?

This will be the first and only time the NWSL may be compared to the 1970's NFL.

There's a difference between Mia Hamm and Jack Ham.

I'd hate to meet up with the women's pro soccer answer to Conrad Dobler.

Soccer has some serious concussion problems, particularly from micro concussions caused my heading the ball over the course of a game. Combine that with all the times a player goes up to win a ball and collides heads with another player

I see this all the time in rec leagues.  I play keeper and I'm always yelling at my defenders to not head the long balls.  If they can't trap them, just let them go.   I'd rather get scored on than have them heading a ball traveling seventy yards through the air.

So in other words, you're coaching a bunch of losers.

That's why you're only a rec goalie.

My son plays soccer. We've had kids go to the ER after a bad hit, b/c our coach takes no chances.

I was at the game and saw the hit.  Wambach should have been pulled, but she's a fierce fierce competitor and was never coming off that field if she had a say in it. I was actually sitting right by the end where Abby wound up at the end of the game (on her knees with her USWNT teammates Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger standing by) - Abby was clearly out of it.

/Funniest moment of the game was Abby sprinting 60 yards to argue about the penalty decision that enabled the Spirit to tie it up
