Did he set up any hilarious traps that foiled the robbers at every step?

A short time later, police claim, Wilson returned with Rowe and forced their way into the home, made the adults inside lay on the ground and cover their heads with blankets and demanded money.

Now I'm having flashes of that scene from "One False Move".

*shudder*

The guy on the right looks kind of stunned. Maybe he got a shovel in the face. I'd like to think so anyway.

Everyplace I spend significant time I always plan a hiding place or escape route.  I don't know why.  Probably too many video games, because it certainly isn't because anything traumatic has happened to me.

Thank heaven I have a panic room in my house for such n event.

I have a bunch of elaborate traps set up.

Sad misuse of the hero tag.

If the parents had been real Americans, they would have had a loaded and unlocked gun in the house, and they would have instructed the 9 year old on how to fire it. THEN he would have been a hero.

Instead, he's just a farking coward.

The boy made the right choice.  And I believe the parents will soon be investing in a shotgun.

That's a pretty nasty neighborhood over there. All the scuzzy people are moving over to that part of town, making it more and more unsafe. It's a tossup if the robbers would have killed his parents or not when they left. On the one hand, they could have just been thieves grabbing the loot and then running. On the other hand, the parents had already seen them and would be able to identify them for police. That little boy could have very well saved his parents' lives. Let's hope they take this as a lesson and are able to move to a safer neighborhood.

Or just shoot the intruder and save the next poor bastage that doesn't have a gun.

The kid was in on it.

He ran when the intruders discovered he didn't have enough in his piggy bank to pay the assassins.

So why do burglars rob poor people? Can't they cross the highway and get some better stuff?

If only the burglars were armed they could have blasted the little shiat.

If not, I am referencing it now.
I was first to reference it.

And if I were the size I was when I was 9 years old that would be a viable option, and good on him.

In the modern era I have a pistol and I know how to use it.

The kid must be current with today's threat course base.

It is indeed, Run, Hide, Fight... in that order.

I see a pattern with home invaders...

1.) Knock on door to find out who is home.

2.) Come back a little later to invade home.

Solution: After someone knocks on door or rings the doorbell, wait patiently for them to come back, with a shotgun pointed at the front door.

Because many people in poor neighborhoods have nice electronics and things that they do buy (since they may not have car expenses, rent may be lower, etc). That, cash, any drugs (prescription too), and jewelry, shoes and weapons can mean a pretty nice haul. Especially if you have multiple relatives living in the same rental. Hell if you have a purebred dog, they'll farking steal that too.

And the police in poor neighborhoods generally have a much higher crime rate to deal with, less likely to get caught, and if caught, less likely to do serious time. Pull that shiat on a white family in the suburbs and they'd probably bring in the FBI.

They both look like they've spent some time inside, rocking that football player workout prison look.

And you're soooo right, In suburbia people would be calling the cops 'just in case' if they saw them past dusk. In California too...as long as no one knew about their political incorrectness. You know, just in case...

Nobody.  The people you called are obviously right there on your front lawn.

Over here if you cross the expressway you're getting into Detroit, and not the "good" parts of Detroit. Hazel Park would be a safer place for them to hit.
