My phone tells time but I still wear a watch.  I like my watch.  Don't need to buy one that costs the same as a car though.

It is easier to discretely look at your watch while your boss is endlessly droning on during a boring meeting than it is to discretely look at your phone.  You can get an adequate watch for a couple bucks.  You can get a real nice watch for a couple hundred.

I wear a Casio calculator watch. It seems to have actually looped around from hopelessly Eighties/early Nineties geekness to something other people regularly comment on and ask about. Only problem is now I feel like a hipster for wearing it, even though I've just been replacing the same identical watch since I was nine years old.

I just ask random people what time it is and average the results.

Did you just say you started wearing a hipster watch before it was cool?  Hmm, I think I see the reason you might feel like a hipster now.

I've got him beat:  My watch is a "pilot watch" that has a built-in rotary slide rule on the bezel.  Though it's hard to read, I have an old cardboard E6B in the car for navigational purposes, and I carry a 6" Pickett N200T Pocket Trig slide rule for all my portable calculatory needs.

So, uh, what's the point?  If the whole thing were full of oil, I could see that as a way of making a watch that was waterproof to any depth, but it's only the dial that is full of oil.

The Exxon Valdez watch, comes with a free bottle of cognac. 23,000 Euro to purchase and 23,000,000 Euro to clean up when you accidentally smash it into something!

Beat me to it. ;)

Trying to get out of a hipster trap is like trying to get out of quicksand.

You too can have a watch that looks like a cheap Swatch for €23,000.
