leg results:
Dortmund-Real 4:1
Bayern - Barca 4:0

Real-Dortmund could still be interesting because a 3:0 at home is difficult, but not impossible for Real.
Should Real score an early 1:0 or have a 2:0 at any time, the Dortmund players will start thinking.

As for Barca-Bayern, I don't see the current Bayern lose by 5 goals or without scoring when the other side has to open up and score 4+ times.
With Robben/Ribery/Müller and maybe Alaba, Bayern has plenty of players who are very good at scoring on "fast break"-style counterattacks.

Well, there is the memorable tie between (then European champions) AC Milan and Deportivo de La Coruña of Spain.  Milan won the home leg 4-0, Coruña came back and scored 5 unanswered to go through on aggregate.

So it can be done, I wonder, however, if either Barca or Real will decide to throw caution to the wind and go all out to get the goals.

Let's have some questionable officiating liven up one of these matches today, shall we?

2013-04-30 02:31:53 PM
And by "today," I meant to add "or tomorrow."

You know who else displayed German dominance?

Yeah, both BvB and Bayern are so good that "throwing caution to the wind" probably means also giving up at least 4 goals again on counterattacks.

And ugly. Don't forget ugly.

The shorter haircut helps him though.

This game might get ugly fast.

I'm calling Barcelona 4-2 or 5-2 tomorrow.

Good question to ask:  How many times has Mourinho's teams come back from at least a two goal deficit, not to mention more than that.

I only ask because I feel that he's a manager that can play a game when his side is down one or even, but more than that he seems to get lost.

Admittedly I only see Real games every now and then, so I'm not up to snuff on his in-game managing pedigree. I just based my comment off some blatant chippyness against Lewandowski and the fact BvB's playing style will only aggravate a frustrated team further.

Lewendowski getting roughed up. There will be red before this one's done.

There were great odds if both German teams won, or even if both teams tied. I found it odd that on just the match by itself, both Spanish clubs were highly favored.

But yea, a parlay on both Spanish clubs to advance would be astronomical odds.

No, can't do that at work, so I'm stuck with Flash.  I finally found one off firstrowsports that's pretty stable.

Someone mentioned to me yesterday that he heard (so I guess it's serious.. :-p) about someone who had made a bet last week that both Bayern and Dortmund would win 4:0.
If Hummels hadn't made that mistake that allowed Real to score, the guy would have won 17000Euros or so.

I didn't bet on advancing, just to win the next match, preferably by 2 goals or more

I heard something similar today - was a Slovakian friend, but I supposed that story could be from anywhere :)

Wow Gundogan, how about you kick it into the open part of the net next time.

2013-04-30 04:09:31 PM
As a goalie - that was a great save by the Real keeper.
One of those where you have to jump into the corner before the ball has left the striker's foot and have to pray that you guessed the striker's intention correctly.
Basically the "Hail Mary pass" equivalent of goalkeeping.

I wonder if I can start randomly and blatantly elbowing people in the back of the head, and when they turn around and see me going "whaaa? I didn't do anything!" they'll immediately go "HA, nice Sergio Ramos impression".

If I hadn't been busy this morning, I would've submitted a headline of "Can a Spanish Inquisition prevent a German invasion of London next month?"

fun game.

Congrats Dortmund! Hopefully we'll see an all German final!

/Also, why the hell would you shove Ronaldo with seconds left? Idiotic move. Glad the ref wasn't going to let it end like that.
