A Manhattan mom is suing an upstate horse farm that she claims sold her a $175,000 pony with health problems.

It was just a little horse.

THIS

If this was a... "free to give away to good home" classified ad thing then, sure, go over and have a look at it then take it home if it looks okay... but 175 grand?! Fark that.

CSB time: Right after the economy tanked one of my coworkers went to an auction to see if there were any deals. Foals with all their shots were getting auctioned off for around $25 - $50. That's cheaper than you can get a dog from the pound.

Yeah, sell someone a work animal that turns out to be lame and you're lucky if they come after you with a lawsuit instead of a shotgun.

First world problem?

Really?

I would think this problem is one that predates written language or legal systems altogether.

Sorry, subby, but your headline is a , "Swing and a miss!"

If Back to the Future 3 taught us anything, it's that you could get shot in the back for messing with a man's pony.

According to the lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Tichner-Dildabanian, 48, made the purchase so that her daughter could ride the pony "for a short time." The plan was to then flip Sports Talk for either sale "or lease for a profit."

I'm just not going to say anything and let that speak for itself.

Should have taken it to Dr. Pol. He'd shove his hand up its ass, pull something out, and 10 minutes later the pony would have been good as new.

In developing societies where animal labor is still widely used, this sort of thing is a very serious problem.
