A flat tire and a dead battery at 3 AM after your flight that was supposed to land at 9 got delayed, diverted, had to stop for more fuel, and finally landed.

I know SPD is trying to not have a repeat of May Day 2012, but proactively destroying vehicles seems a bit over the top...

Spokesman Perry Cooper says the cause of the fire is under investigation, but it does not appear suspicious.

If they don't know the cause, then how is it not suspicious? What exactly is a non-suspicious way for a 6th-floor parking lot fire to start?

I fly out of that airport on average of once a month.  The fourth through sixth floors almost always have a lot of construction equipment around, it may very well have been an accident.  Still, I'm glad I take a shuttle van instead of driving down there.

/That and parking in the garage is almost as expensive as your flight...

If you ever have to park your car at the airport....I recommend Shuttle Park 2.  Their rates are great, and they sometimes have coupons on their website.

/For the record, I'm not affiliated with them.
//Just a happy customer.

When it's less than a week, I'll use the MasterPark garage.  It's cheap, covered, monitored and I get Alaska miles.

Hmmmmm.....I may consider switching.

See, this is why I hate leaving my car in long term parking at the airport.  I'm always afraid that I'll come back and my car has been trashed, stolen or damaged somehow.

Ha! Haf a flight out of Seatac this morning. Unsettling to see as you approch.

/Wondered if that would make it to Fark.

I once parked at the airport for a 3-day weekend and it cost $100. I've used Master Park and it was cheaper, but light rail FTW!

And by the time light rail comes to the Sky River valley my grandchildren will enjoy using it... I've never understood how a town as supposedly left-leaning as this keeps stunting mass transit as much as we do.  Those of us north and east of the city have few options.

...That somehow spread to lots of other cars in a concrete parking garage? Yeah, not suspicious at all. Concrete is totally flammable.

The theory, as I heard it on local news:

1. Gas leaks out of a car
2. Leaked gas flows downhill under the other cars
3. ?
4. Profit

They don't suspect arson at this time but they brought in the arson team to make sure just because it's so unusual.

If it were arson, that would be a very strange way to go about it; you make the gas leak, and then, what, sit around for how long waiting for the gas to flow downhill before you light it?  I guess it's also weird for a car to have a gas leak bad enough to light 10 other cars on fire.  You car nerds will have to pick over both choices.
