Okay.  I clicked.  And I get the joke.

But there is something else more pertinent to this discussion.  The only thing that sucks more than the city honoring the Hooters, is the Hooters themselves.

That is one suck-ass excuse for a band.  How they ever got so popular, will never be known.  Why it is that they think being from Philly is something that should bolster their popularity is also a mystery.  Philly has produced many better things.  Smog for instance.  And traffic.  Man, they have some of the best backups for absolutely no apparent reason.

.... I'ma gonna stop right there 'cause I realized what I just typed.

They were way ahead of the zombie kick, btw.

Philadelphia has also produced Gary Heidnik and MOVE.

I've loathed the Hooters since 1985. Now that I'm older, I still hate them.

Gather around, kids, it's CSB, time!

About '91 or '92, I worked security for the Hooters at my college, now a University. They were still in denial that the were huge stars, even though they were the 'headliners' for this little outdoor festival for a rinky dinky college. We were to make sure no one got within 10 feet of them at any time and no one was to speak to any member of the group, and we had to escort them, with umbrellas to keep the sun off them, back and forth from their tour bus to the stage. Man, I had worked for some 'famous' dicks in the entertainment biz, but these guys were the worst!

Best guys were Huey Lewis and the News, they played golf with me and a couple of my friends

They were, and I think one of them wrote Cyndi'shiat Time After Time.

Oh and Trent Reznor is also from PA, but he got out as soon as he was old enough.
