I'm...unsure about this one.

I will definitely watch this the day it's released on Netflix.

Seems to be the same Elysium trailer that I saw weeks ago.

Everytime I see the name "Blomkamp", I mentally change it to "Blumpkin". Is there something wrong with me?

Does Jodie Foster get raped in this one?

Always convenient how those black-market arms dealers have the most powerful weapon in the galaxy sitting in inventory.

What, you thought Lockheed designed our jets?  It's some dude in a bazaar over in Tajikistan.

Or Tony Stark held hostage in a cave.

I saw this just after reading the Nude Girl in Walmart...from Easter Sunday.  Is today repeat day?

I could swear that nude woman in Walmart has been posted three or four times now.

Why am I disappointed that this is not a sequel to Pandorum?

I know, just because the ship was called the Elysium...

oh geez, there the Matt Damon again glorifying guns and gun owners.
Hollywood needs to stop promoting a culture of violence.  Are they paid by the gun lobby (the way they used to be paid to promote cigarettes) ?

I hope this and similar movies flop and people reject going to movies like this.

Remember the 15!

I genuinely love District 9, so I'll have to go see this.

No love for Sharlto Copley, subby?

I felt the same way about the trailer for District 9 too.  The only trailer I saw for District 9 made it look like a typical Humans vs. Aliens action explosion movie so I am holding out hope that this movie will be better than the trailer suggests as well.

sounds like a "you" problem to me. Either change the people you hang out with or don't be such a dildo when it comes to what you like in movies.

Cheers.

Sucks to be you. I enjoyed it. Found it weird that everyone thought it was an allegory for apartheid when it was about immigration, but I suppose apartheid is that people think when they think about South Africa at all. Something else I found funny was that Vickus' last name was apparently the name associated with Afrikaaner idiots, which was interesting (a manager at my job at the time had an interestingly thick SA accent). Oh, and a guy got shot with a pig. That was hilarious.

Don't worry - I'm sure another Michael Bay Transformers film won't be far behind.

Obviously, you meant that as a jibe but it's really not.

Alien Nation might not have had the budget of some projects, but it had a brilliantly conceived and well-executed premise. The tv show and tv movies are FAR better than the movie was.

District 9 was in good company.

It's nice too see all the left over assests from the failed Halo movie Blomkamp was working on continue to get used!

Same old same old.

Rich people living in a fortress with massive amounts of weapons are defeated by a lone man who manages to get by all their security systems and avoids being killed by thousands of police/armed security.

We've seen this before - many many times.

Don't mistake a handful of anonymous comments for a scientifically accurate poll. This is the one film I'm unreservedly excited about this summer, so I'll be sitting there too.

Perhaps you film snobs would like the new Pacific Rim trailer instead? It probably has sharp knees though.

Not on Fark.  No one here thinks any movie or any game or any book is anything but mediocre.  I can only imagine this board spends their time reading obscure baroque poetry and listening to gregorian throat singing.  You guys must be great fun at parties.

I'm getting district 9 déjà vu. A couple months of vague teasers, then a trailer that makes the movie seem like a simple plot with a lot of action. So I'm willing to guess there will be a lot more to the story then rich bad poor good like people are saying.

Yes, you're in the minority.  It was a good movie.  Better than Avatar, and Avatar won some significant awards the same year
