What about fathers? Kids can learn bad behaviors by watching their father.

I DNRTFA, but I have this to say...

I have an older brother.  I watched that dude do everything from breaking into cars and houses, to major league drug and alcohol addiction, incarceration, and finally rehab.  You know what the influence was on me?

Answer:  "Don't get caught."
I'm kidding, of course...  It's really more like, "Have some fun, but, man, keep it under control."

For what it's worth, my brother is sober now for something like 5 years, and is doing really well.  He's always been a bit of a hardass, and perhaps that's why he figured out how to bounce back.

Maybe it was a good thing that Hitler's younger brother died so young.

The fictional exception to the rule? Or was Baby Jane the older one?

Well if anything my younger brother was closer to being a bad influance on me than I was on him(although neither of us was that bad). Of course we are only like a year apart so we probably have a dynamic almost more like twins than a typical big brother/little brother dynamic.

One of my exes got knocked up after we broke up.  We have common friends so I run into her every now and then...  found out her younger sister got knocked up recently too.

Getting a kick blah blah blah

WRONG. I couldn't get away with anything because parents knew all the tricks by the time I came around.
Not to mention getting blamed everytime older ones broke something.

While this might be true, that means that the younger one grows up with less regulation and might get off the tracks easier.

As the oldest of a total of 6 children (3 brothers, 1 half-sister and 1 half-brother), I'm getting a kick out of
this thread.

CSB:

When my god-daughter found out that she was going to be a big sister, she started referring to her
sibling-to-be as 'Max', because her favorite cartoon is "Ruby & Max".

We later found out that the baby will be a girl, but we're still hoping that she will be named such that we
can nickname her 'Max'.

This.  My big brother helped me avoid all kinds of shiat.  Big brothers can be awesome.  NPR Nonsense.

Not mine, but aside from the classic "quit hitting yourself" one, I thank How I Met Your Mother for this sibling gem:

"Hey, I just came back from Hurtz Doughnuts.  Want one?"
"Sure!"
*smack* "Hurts, don't it?"
*grrr!*
