The typical Fox News viewer blindly accepts whatever the network says without a hint of a skepticism, because they've bought into their bullshiat of being the lone voice against a gigantic, left-wing MSM conspiracy?

No shiat.

I opened the article but all I found was a circle jerk.

They both suck, only one of them was ever decent and still has the potential to be good again. And that isn't FOX (or MSNBC).

FOX has the best infromation.  And the best pissed-off white men and bottle-blondes.

Does Turner have anything at all to do with CNN anymore?

Of course I trust FOX more than CNN! Why, just the other day I saw a thing on FOX News telling me how biased CNN is.

No way am I gonna trust CNN.

I am NOT opening anything from that site, even in PDF form, so can anyone tell us WHO did the poll? In fairness, if it was sponsored by Bob Jones University or the Heritage Foundation, folks might have some small reason to question its validity...

also note how ABC, CBS, and NBC were almost equal with FOX for "believability", yet despite News Busters being so rational, fair, and unbiased as they are, they never mention that and just go with how FOX beat CNN, and MSNBC.

of course... CNN is the "Communist News Network" according to various online comments i've read in various places. and it is soooo obvious too. how communist they are. no hyperbole at all there. pure communism from CNN.

meanwhile...

in real life... the actual real life 'yin' to the Fox News 'yang' isn't CNN or MSNBC... but people that get their news from many disparate sources and utilize basic information gathering techniques and critical thinking skills to figure out what is the actual news.

i know... it sounds crazy to Fox News afficiandos that we don't just use a single-source (well... maybe they use 2-3 sources if you include AM radio as well and other partisan echo-chambers) ... but it *is* possible to be actually legitimately infromed. all without glomming on to whatever inane conspiracy theory is being pushed hard each week.

personally... i hadn't watched CNN in literally a decade until the Boston deal. and only did then because they were the only 24 hour "news" channel that had *anything* on the air at the time (inexplicably). and even then i muted it after a bit and just found multiple other better sources online.

I think he's still a major shareholder of Time Warner, which owns Turner Broadcast Systems, which operates CNN. But I think that's all. He left the board of directors in 2006.

Trust FOX News?

I trust FOX News.

I trust FOX News to regurgitate RW talking points at the drop of a hat and to slant everything one way.

They are *very* reliable in that regard.

In terms of delivering the 5 Ws? Not so much.

Mr. Coffee Nerves: When angry old white men yell at receptionists to put Fox News on common area TVs, that's counted twice.

that is always very interesting to me.

when i wait in various waiting rooms that play something *other* than Fox News... it seems like there is (more often than not) some old man that DEMANDS it be changed to Fox News.

if it is NOT changed... then it is alllllll loud snide comments about every GD thing on the screen. as if others care.

i have never once in my life seen someone do that about CNN or MSNBC. ever. in decades. but Fox News... man... they need to get their fix and can't be challenged in the slightest by anything else.

if there is something i don't like on a TV at some place i am at... i just do something else and ignore it. pretty easy honestly.

At my hotel's lobby, we used to occasionally get some guest turning the TV to Fox & Friends in the mornings.. and then the hotel would get a few negative reviews afterwards.  But under the current cable TV setup, Fox News and some other stations are only available from the room TVs.  I know one guest in particular who got upset by that change, and hasn't come here as often.  Not a bad guy usually, though he's got rough frown lines on his face.

Get out from under your rock occasionally, Smitty.

Based on what I know about the man, my guess is that it kills him to see what's happened to CNN.

/I'm sure he made a shiatload, but CNN has fallen so far and so hard from its one-time respectability, he's gotta be having regrets.

My dad is the guy you've never seen. If he's at the VFW or some place like that, before he takes the first sip of beer he usually says something like "can we turn this shiat off??!?" this is usually followed by someone heckling him for not watching the "real news channel" or something and then the political debate is on.

yet, according to my mom, he still watches bill o'reilly religiously every night. of course he yells at the TV the entire time, but he still watches that shiat.

2013-04-30 05:31:19 AM
CNN's motto is "First" which is a meaningless point of pride for any journalist.  Fox News' motto is "Fair and Balanced,"  neither of which describe facts.  And NewsBusters' motto is "exposing and combating liberal media bias" which they do by apparently picking one of these fake news people over the other, which is apparently how one "busts" the news.

There's jizz all over the walls and the room is full of halfwits.

I live overseas and the international CNN, for all its supposed good reputation, is pretty much crap. Inside Africa, Inside the Middle East (previously with  Christiane Amanpour), Inside Sports, and all the other filler crap they show may play well to navel-gazing wonks, but it's just boring shiat for people who just want the news.

When someone tells you that CNN International is great, tell them they're lying and they've never watched a minute of it and are just regurgitating bullshiat they read on the internet. It's useless, boring pablum. From the "Here comes African industry" crap to the fat weather chick, it's all junk.

Great Leap is up in Beijing, right? I'm a bit further south (Zhuhai).

We do have a local place that brews it's own beer, but the stuff isn't so great.  The owners CBA to even learn how it's done, they just hired some guy from Somewhere Else to teach one of their local staff.  I just get the feeling that they're more business guys than beer guys.

Got another guy, a Brit who used to be a brewmaster, that is just starting out with his own microbrew, so we'll see how that goes.

It's an interesting trend (microbrew in China), one I'm still wondering if I should give a go at.

Also, don't recall seeing Yanjing in the stores here.  Local mass produced beers are HaiZhu and Pearl River.  They're pretty meh, too.

During the poll, which was based on interviews of 1,000 adults last Friday and Saturday, the bad news for CNN began when people were asked how believable the news was from that channel during the Boston bombings. The biggest response was 35 percent stating "I don't watch CNN."

Sorry to burst your bubble Newsbusters.  But "don't watch" doesn't mean "don't believe".

And even beyond that, just because you watch or believe whatever Fox is selling today doesn't mean that it's actually true.

News Busters, CNN, and FOX News...

Seems like there's plenty of suck to go around there without singling anyone out.

So, CNN, by some people (idiots) definition, a liberal rag, does poor reporting of an event, and they lose their #1 spot almost instantly.

Fox, described by themselves as only reporting the 'other' (conservative only) side of the story, through lies and deceit, gains viewership.

I'll let the facts stand on its own merits.

I like the BBC as far as cable news goes.

Occasionally watch Al-Jazeera English, MSNBC and CNN International (mostly for soccer coverage)

Have to watch Fox News at my ex in laws place. Don't care for it much. Colbert has made it impossible to watch O'Reilly without laughing
