My one great business idea was to sell pubic hair stencils, I was sad when I saw someone had actually marketed it.

It was a woman? I'm surprised anyone in the Catholic church noticed.

"What I do want to have happen is for this person to learn an important lesson," Zubik said.

You can't insult Catholics?

the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh calls it inappropriate and disrespectful.

Catholic priests who rape and/or molest kids and the church leaders who condone their behavior are also inappropriate and disrespectful.

You have evidence that the bishop interviewed in the story personally molested children and/or oversaw priests who did?

Proof?  No - but certainly, at this point, a high statistical probability, given enough time for the truth to come out.  I'd be willing to bet on every single bishop in the RCC having been or overseen a child molester at some point.  If I laid money on all of them, even with conservative odds, I'm certain I'd come out ahead in the end.

Yeah, I guess it doesn't matter if you falsely accuse 100 people of molesting children as long as one person is eventually convicted in the court of public opinion

You were probably in the wrong CMU crowd.

Lots of schools have insanely driven Type-A++++ engineering types, and lots of schools have gratuitously weird, hyper-attention-seeking, naked-at-the-drop-of-a-hat art students with oddball politics, but CMU is one of the few that has both.  Lots of both.

Godwin aside, I see your point. The entire institution essentially protected the abusers and estranged their victims, and therefore is collectively responsible as an organization, and until they properly acknowledge that and show serious effort into eliminating the problem it should be attached to them as constantly and publicly as possible.

Did I get that right?

That is what I think, yes.

But I was also being literal - having been a part of the hierarchy for a time (monastery), and seen the scandal from the other side, I am willing to bet money that every single bishop has, at some time, been a molester or overseen a molester.  Some have not, but I'm certain a higher percentage have.  It's systemic and far more widespread than we know, because the psychology of those in the religious life makes it almost inevitable.

Hmmm.... nope, I didn't say that.

You said that "whiny priest" was a "child molester". That guy. Bishop David Zubik.

I asked if you had any evidence to support your claims that that man, Bishop David Zubik, was a child molester or if he helped to cover up other child molesters.

Were there priests who molested children and other clergy who covered it up? Yes, and they should be brought to justice for what they did. However, to accuse ALL Catholic clergy (or all Catholics) of being guilty of being child molesters is taking too broad of a brush to the problem.

Says you.  I never said that particular bishop is a child molester, by the way - but I did say the statistical probability is that any bishop has been or has supervised a child molester.  Having seen the problem from the other side, I'm convinced the problem is far more systemic than you or most people think.

Im also crossed that this article doesnt allow the readers to cross the line and inspect the subject. Perhaps it was a tatoo, we need to investigate.

Astounding logic, dickishness.
