(The Next Web)   If you aren't sick of 'Gangnam Style' yet, this Samsung reworking of the song to promote the Galaxy S4 will do it, and probably make you buy an iPhone in the process   (thenextweb.com) divider line 50

The fact that the Indian doppelgänger of Henry Ian Cusick was involved amplified the horror.

Pssst... hey Samsung. Leave the marketing to Apple. Just keep innovating, that's why people are buying your phone.

Foxxinnia: Sometimes I wonder if ad people are on the same planet we are. How could you be so consistently off the ball?

A lot of times, it's the client, not the ad people. Some higher up at the company rejects all the ideas creative comes up with because he or she had some brilliant idea (that completely sucks).  Creative tries to talk them out of it, but ultimately, they're the client and you have to make them happy.  Thus, garbage like this is born.

And yet, for some reason, I want to go back to advertising copywriting.

Probably because you expect absolutely nothing from your phones(anything?).

Nokia is about the worse cell maker in the last 5years-ish.  They had some great phones and massive market share and they let everything go.

Samsung marketing must've been drunk that day.

Samsung could go cannibal on a toddler on-stage or bring us holocaust 2.0 or even even bring back Disco. Nothing (and I can't stress this enough) *NOTHING* could make me buy an iPhone.

oddly enough, i work in a verizon indirect store and i am buying an iphone 5 in a few days. you just get sick of tinkering with android after a while. i do already have an android tablet though, otherwise id probably go the note 2 route. the other 5 employees have all shifted to apple as well.

What you call "tinkering," some of us call "customization," a.k.a., the ability to mold our technology however the hell we want.

The iPhone: The AOL of mobile devices.

I love my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, but Samsung really, really sucks at being hip.

And before the Apple folks come after me, I also love my iPod touch.

You see, kiddies, in this world we're allowed to own and love electronic devices from   more than one company. Believe it or not, there's no rule that says you can't own something from Samsung if you also own something from Apple.

I didn't think it was possible to ruin hot indian chicks bouncing around in sparkly outfits.....proven wrong again!

Seriously when I saw this last night on the verge I was left gobsmacked and embarrassed for Samsung galaxy owners everywhere....if that, and the annoying ability to pause YouTube videos every time you blink, is what's making you buy the galaxy...then, well it's scary.

Update: hadnt even seen the Radio City launch....wow...tough crowd.....

Why have all these companies forgotten, we don't give a shiat about the razzmatazz...the reason Jobs was such a showman was because he didnt try and make scripted wisecracks, or hip references

He just talked about the product, why it was amazing...and had the occasional dig at rivals...thats what made him awesome. Just watching that stuff and i have to say i just thought "I'd probably prefer to watch an advert by Gary Busey, where he turns into a mechanical dog"

It tested well with their focus groups.

Parents of people 18-34 who had finally found out what "Gangnam Style" referred to.

That's not the worst technology parody I've seen of Gangnam Style.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you "IT Style" by F5 Networks.

I almost walked out of the presentation when the F5 sales-droid played that.

In general, "fanbois" (stupid term) will  support a company, regardless of its actions. The term you are looking for is  hater.

/Apple phones aren't my thing.
//Nothing against them, though. Used to own one and it did well for my purposes, but my Android devices have done what it does, better.

I actually like Gangnam Style (the original), and I lasted roughly 15 seconds of that video. Painful. Having said that, I'm not Indian, and who knows, maybe there's a demographic for that ad. Goodness knows the Koreans get a kick out of media that I find cringe-inducing (like Psy's new song).

I liked the TF2 parody somewhat; made me want to play a few rounds, that's for sure.

No there isn't. This is being widely mocked in India too.

Here's a heavy metal cover.  I think I was in the audience that night.  Nothing funnier than seeing 300lb metalheads stop headbanging and start doing the cowboy hustle.

They called it gangrape style.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1-grzvmHvc

I honestly haven't seen anything Gangnam Style related in something like a month and a half other than old people biatching about how sick of it they are.

Hmmmm.

If I needed a phone to help me hang the new mirror in the living room the Nokia is absolutely the phone I would buy.  But since that is not in my top 100 things I will do with my phone, I will choose one that will run the programs I want/need.
