Given the amount of man-made debris in orbit and the general amount of random objects that get pulled into Earth's gravity well, I would imagine that's a somewhat frequent occurrence.

I like that he clarified that the stone was from the universe.

Well, the thing was blinking its lights through my bedroom window so I shot it!

Is the damage the top part with what looks like tin-foil ripped up?  Or is the damage that small hole in the panel itself, on the left hand side?

2013-04-29 02:13:01 PM
stupid rednecks, always shooting stuff.

This wouldn't have happened if the ISS were armed.

/an armed universe is a polite universe.

Relatively Obscure: I like that he clarified that the stone was from the universe.

It's almost as descriptive as "elsewhere"

2013-04-29 02:14:00 PM
You need to be very careful what you ask the universe for.
Miles above the earth's surface, please don't wish you were stoned.

CNN reported the object was traveling at 14 times the speed of light when it hit them!!!!!!

It vaporized the ISS and caused the moon to fracture which is now falling on us to cause a tidal wave 1500 miles high killing all life on Earth forever!   But they said I need to stay tuned for their sponsors if I want to know more.

2013-04-29 02:14:40 PM
How long until Best Korea takes credit for shooting it?

Drove home from camping in the San Rafael Swell (UT) this weekend. Every sign had bullet holes in it on the county roads. Every one.

Relatively Obscure: I like that he clarified that the stone was from the universe.

Well, you know how it is in space. There's always stuff coming through from other universes, and it's nearly all dangerous.
(Unless Star Trek, Babylon 5, Red Dwarf, Andromeda, Doctor Who, and probably every other sci-fi show ever - with the possible exception of Firefly - has lied to me. But that couldn't happen, right?)

Well, stop flashing wads of cash in the wrong part of the solar system at night and maybe you won't get shot at so damn much.

That's one of the most expensive things about putting up power and telecommunications boxes in the wilderness, the rednecks tend to shoot the shiat out of them.

Commander Hadfield needs to have his wife up there with him. That way, if one of these things actually hits and pierces the hull, he can put up a sign that reads "SHOOTING STARS ONLY" and then have his wife plug up the hole with her hand.

Another victim of gun violence!!! We need to ban ALL asteroids and Space junk NOW......NO ASTEROIDS IN OUR SCHOOLS!

FARK rebel soldier: Hadfield? Isn't he the Canadian who went on Reddit (his son set it up for him) for an AMA?

Yup.  He's been tweeting and Facebooking all sorts of awesome pictures from his stay on the ISS.

@Cmdr_Hadfield is one of my favourite Twitter feeds.
