Read that as "waiting to install the bacon to ward off aircraft."

Well I could see why they wouldn't want to broadcast their location to large aircraft.

Then again anyone that doesn't see that large of a building coming must pitch for the Yankees.

That's silly.  Bacon would attrack aircraft, not ward them off.

I'd imagine the F-16s lurking around NYC airspace for awhile will take care of that.  I mean, I assume we'll be smart enough to have the NJ, NYC, and PA Air Guards do all their training near NYC for awhile after the tower opens.

2013-04-29 12:47:10 PM
Put a couple of mosques in the building to ward them off.

2013-04-29 12:47:57 PM
Gee, too bad they didn't have any of those beacons to ward off aircraft back on 9/11.  Does the beacon cast a spell, or spray some kind of chemical repellent?

Treat them like the canary in the coal mine. The second you can't hear them get out of the building.

Is office space hard to come by in NYC?    Is this building necessary?   Or is it a waste of $$$?

Shoulda gone for the worlds tallest, but the 1,776 feet was an interesting choice.

Not long, if the supporting structure is in place.

Sure you don't want a SeaRAM or the new LaWS instead, though?

The whole 1776 feet is cute, but I believe the international body that certifies tall buildings isn't going to credit them with that as the official height because of some arcane rule about not counting comm. antennae in the building's final height.  In fact, some mixed-use condo/hotel building under construction in mid-town is going to end up being the certified "tallest" in NYC by a few feet over this one.

Get ready to pay big bucks to get to the observation deck. It's not going to be buy your ticket and get on the elevator. They're turning it into a show.

God that is ugly and sullies the already ugly sightlines from Central Park. I guess no more than "the most beautiful building in the world...Trump tower." Quotes are according to Trump.

What they should've done - WHAT THEY SHOULD'VE DONE - is tell everyone that they're rebuilding the towers, but in reality just make them huge holograms and not tell anyone that they're really just huge holograms.

Then, when the terrorists try to blow them up or fly planes into them, which they certainly will try, we can all just point and laugh.

"HA HA YOU IDIOT THERE'S NOTHING EVEN THERE!"

They could put lasers on the tops to shoot down incoming missiles and planes.  We have the technology.

/Of course, you'd still have the big plane crashing in a residential area.

Yeah but we could still laugh because they had no idea the buildings weren't there.

You embarrass those guys just once, they'll stop. I just know it.
