I put a new primary mirror cell into my 8" Dob yesterday and took it out last night to see how it performs.

Saturn was the first target- even over the neighbor's house (with some heat shimmer) it looked really nice.  I could make out some atmospheric banding and possibly the Cassini division, although that might have been wishful thinking.  Given the high haze last night and light pollution in my neighborhood, not too bad.  Titan, Rhea and Enceladus were easy to spot as well

/#&%$#@ haze and light pollution.  I can't make out anything below mag 10 with an 8", and trying to star hop with a Telrad when you can't make out anything lower than mag 2 naked eye is a royal PITA.  I need to find a good dark site nearby.

To honor the occasion we will have a clunky headline contest.

LAUGHTER OL all that was seen by me was Uranus!  LAUGHTER OL if you do not get it this is the pun because you are seeing that Saturn is the planet but also so is Uranus however if you do the word of Uranus it sounds as if I am referring to the body part of you!  LAUGHTER OL!
