I don't really care for tech metal, but certainly appreciate the musicianship.

I usually like this particular flavor of metal but this was a more than a little monotonous. Serious chops but I would have liked to have heard a little more variation.

This is how you do that kind of thing right (possibly nsfw or people with aversion to giant man eating insects).

Djenty modeled noodling. Does not really go anywhere.

...is that a band? Or just one guy, and a backing track?

Or is this just one of those videos that only features the lead person, rhythm section be damned...

I liked it. Thanks subs. It reminds me of the fantastic ending to this !T.O.O.H.! song. I farking love that outro.

New Summoning leaked on youtube (definitely buy this one) -  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2M7jHbwDxbE">http://www.youtube.com/wa tch?v=2M7jHbwDxbE

Finally got around to listening to Gorgoroth's rerecording of Under the Sign of Hell. I think the energy and atmosphere isn't as good but the guitars sound awesome. Here is the most improved song -  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kg_8kzYnQgs">http://www.youtube.com/wa tch?v=Kg_8kzYnQgs

Have it on pre-order, but the 128 rip alone is soooo good. Can't wait to hear it at a decent sound quality.

Speaking of soooooo good, the new Satan album is streaming over at Terrorizer and it is absolutely amazing. It's like they never missed a beat from Court in the Act.

Also, this Octo-whatever song is really bad. The song itself is boring wankery that I've heard a million farking times sense Meshuggah became popular, and that guitar tone is painful to listen to. It's really bad.

Far better Jazz Metal wankery.

I was a fan and a half when this album came out, but when they re-emerged their sound just sucked to me. It's ok I guess, but it's just so boring now.

New Uncle Acid dropped ahead of schedule at Amazon for some reason.

Basically old news, but the new Killing Joke is better than I expected.

I'd also recommend Panzerballet.  Farkers should appreciate their take on The Simpsons theme.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CgKzkriPQk

We disagree on a lot of things, but when you're right, you're right.

Since I can't resubmit a link, here's what I offered up this week: Japanese visual kei power metal band. Oh, and all-girl. Say konichiwa to  [a href="http://vimeo.com/29329850">Aldious</a>

This week I'm listening to some excellent black metal from Colorado Cobalt

I'm also really looking forward to the new Summoning album. Since getting turned on to them a month or so ago, I have bought all of their material except for the first album, which I will.

Also digging a German band called Todgelichter who aren't for the purists, but very musical, textured and I think pretty excellent.

Great guitar player. Boring song. That stuff is made for the self-indulgent guitar player to crank it too.

What jazz influences? It's some wanker lead guitarist with decent technique, but zero feel.

I liked that. Great stuff and will be checking out some more stuff by them. I was half expecting some awesome screams and was a little disappointed, but still she has a great voice.
