I've seen a few YouTube videos of this dude and his friends.  He's got a strong sense of right and wrong, but it's hard to condone what he's doing.  He has no authority; no mandate.  I want to wish him well but mostly I just hope he doesnt get hurt.

But when people see someone standing tall when the people with the real "authority" are backing down, how can that be a bad thing? Especially if he has help, and no weapons are involved?

Since when do civilians need a mandate or authority to act when they see a crime being committed in a public place? If the guy was kicking in doors and going after people, you'd have a point.

But if you're going to go through the trouble of becoming a "superhero" then don't ruin the mythos by getting on YouTube and making whiny, badly acted videos complaining about things!

Also, just sort of walking down the street in sneakers saying "How ya doin'?" to passersby isn't exactly 'badass' superhero-y

I think he toned the bad-ass angle after he got busted for the pepper spray incident.

Fact is Fodor's a clown and Seattle (and our media) has a love of clowns.

Phoenix Jones is a total jackass.

Also, I don't recall any of the below happening the way they state it, and I happened to be in front of the TV when it all happened live on the noon news.

""Someone threw something that exploded and it caught fire in front of the court house," he recalled. "That's when knew this is it. We can't retreat."

Jones jumped into action last May Day as anarchist rioters tried to storm the old Federal Court House. Jones and his small band of caped crusaders repelled the advancing anarchists, and he said he'll do it again.

"The police had to stand down and were not allowed to do anything. We didn't stand down and we did something. We will act," Jones said.  "

None of it happened like that. Watch the video.

Heh, I was just watching the trailer for Kick Ass 2 wondering what happened to that "real life superhero" phase that the world went through.

This guy ruined his chance. People already know his real name, hell I think they even know where he works or something. You have to adhere to concepts and a very strict code of operations. I mean not that I'm an expert, but if we take Batman Begins as an example, there was a very defined presentation. He was a shadow, a monster almost. All mystery.

This Phoenix Jones guy did almost the exact opposite. There's videos of him trying to stop someone from drunk driving. I mean that's good because drunk driving is beyond retarded and kills people. But could his influence be better spent elsewhere? Instead of outright confronting people? Meh maybe not who knows.

I'm not really seeing anything about a mob assault on the Federal Court House building in Seattle. Seems like that would be wiki worthy even if it didn't make the news.

You'd be surprised. It's kind of a farked up commentary on our society, but people are afraid of lawsuits and getting bad press, they will do almost anything to prevent a confrontation with criminals.

If you witnessed a felony taking place in front of you, you'd have the right to step in to prevent it. Anything else, you could end up charged as well.

For those not following along at home, the SPD has a serious, serious problem that is nation wide. They've been making headlines for acting like the LAPD. Severe racism, killing unarmed civilians, police brutality, and "losing" key evidence. They farked up the WTO riots, the Mardi Gras riots, and the May Day riots. They've been investigated by the DOJ, and they just lost their chief. SPD is a farking mess.

I've read a little about Phoenix Jones. He obviously does have some level of police support, as evidenced by this video. Tune in around 5:55 if you're TL:DR. If he and his buddies are dong what the police will not do, and if they aren't subject to a DOJ investigation, more power to them.

As if. You think the police wouldn't have tazered the shiat out of someone they saw attacking the Federal Building?

Also, the first I've heard of this firebomb or explosive or whatever he was calling it is from Phoenix Jones, a washed up attention whore. If someone had tossed a molotov cocktail or some other explosive at the Federal Building we'd all know about it.

Like two or three people tried to break windows. I don't even think it was the Federal Court House but the damned Federal Post Office building anyway. There was a crowd of maybe a dozen other people watching curiously, maybe two or three of them were associated with the window breakers. Most of the other protesters had already moved to another area. After farkclown and a sidekick showed up the people breaking windows moved down the street to break other windows. He really showed them!

It wasn't a violent mob. The main protest, which wasn't violent anyway, had moved on. There were like three people breaking windows and maybe a dozen watching. If the police can't handle that little they should all be fired for being even more useless than I thought they were.

The problem is that this guy has no idea how to identify when a crime is actually being committed.  He has no way of reading the situation.  All he's managed to do so far is get people even more pissed off, granted they're now pissed off at him, and then he calls the cops.  That's his schtick.
