And it fell apart on the way to the cemetery.

This guy is a true hero of capitalism.  Without a 99-cent-only store within walking distance, I would have had no access to fresh food until recently.  Our neighborhood grocery store shut down and moved to a better ( read: fewer black and homeless people ) location many miles to the south.  For two years there were only two places to buy food, a small eastern european deli with awesome but very expensive imports and pastries, and the 99-cent-only Store.  The 99-cent-store has everything, even fresh vegetables ( kind of fresh anyway ), milk, eggs, occasionally real cheese, and other things you'd find only in grocery stores.  Sometimes they have better items too, like Toblerones, or the amazing find this last few weeks, Terry's Dark Chocolate Oranges.  Those things were going for $6.99 on Amazon.

/ I went back the next day, was going to use every last dime I had to buy those and flip them online -- they were ALL gone!  You gotta be quick!

This is the place where things are actually 99 cents.. actually, 99.99 cents. Seriously.

Here in Texas, they have some items that are more than 99 cents..but they label them in a pretty obvious way... and they are usually in a specific area of the store.
