They're only human.
Of flesh and blood they're made.
Human.
Born to make mistakes.

Go easy on them Subby, they are only human.

Keep Feeling Fascination is one of the greatest pop songs ever recorded. There, I said it.

Nevermind The Human League, Ultravox dropped out!

Are you people speaking in some kind of secret code?

You're lucky I care
For fools like you
You're lucky I'm there

Don't, don't you want me?
You know I can't believe it
When I hear that you won't see me

2013-04-28 02:02:36 AM
HoJo will gladly take their place!

Haven't given a shiat about them since whatever that turd they put out after Travelogue.

2013-04-28 02:13:56 AM
I suppose they can always go back to working as waitresses at the cocktail bar.

Performing on-stage on a mobility scooter isn't the draw you would think it would be....

Tell me when the 80s sound truly went away, because the collaboration with Utah Saints worked out pretty well. Don't the producers want them anymore? If someone had a change of mind, argued for another start, a brand new day, what does it matter they won't hear the sound of the crowd; they can always listen to the voice of Buddha. To bring this thing back to the Empire State, here's the 12" mix of Fascination (Improvisation), which is yet another one of the things that dreams are made of.

It's from 1974 board game

When I was a kid, I remember how lame I thought those ancient 60's groups were that my parents loved.  That'll teach me.

Listen to the voice of Buddha
Saying stop your sericulture
Little people like your offspring
Boiled alive for some Gods stocking
Buddha's watching, Buddha's waiting

it totally is!

Twilight Farkle: Tell me when the 80s sound truly went away

It's a thing that teaches morons how to use an apostrophe.

Nice and subtle.

Too bad. I like the Regeneration Tour, but ABC hasn't been included in a few years, which is even sadder.

2013-04-28 09:30:10 AM
Looks like it's due to having a shiatty promoter.  A tour that only has 5 dates booked so far, and the headliner already dropped out?  Epic Failure.

I found my mom's copy of the Fascination! EP on vinyl and proceeded to listen to it like four times.

Maybe they'll find a much better tour, with or without them.

A one hit wonder was a headline act! Not much of a concert, was it?

Human League wasn't a one hit wonder.

I was 5 when it came out and thought the lyric was "Don't you want my baby"? My mom was appalled.

 Those type shows are,at best,a gamble....Late 80's me and a partner,over the course of a few months,promoted some shows with 60's and 70's acts....Here's a short review of a few
John Kay and Steppenwolf...John was the only original member(he had Les Dudek on guitar)..was better than ever..
Bad Finger..my partner specifically wanted these guys..He goes into their dressing room b4 the show and they have maybe one or two original guys...They have their set list taped on a wall and when my partner looks at it..2 of their more well known songs arent there...He says..hey wheres "no matter where you are" and one other..I cant remember.   One of the originals says to him...Sorry dude,we got no one that can sing that high!!!
Guess Who...Very polished and tight..but without Burton Cummings voice..just not the same
Foghat...They did not have 10$ between them and were literally starving to death..The one guy was so jacked up..you coulda put a model airplane together with his breath..
Bachman Turner Overdrive....We book them on the assurance Randy Bachman will be there...Coming off the plane..no farking Randy..Instead its his fat fark brother Tim...He walks toward us,waving some papers saying..."its okay..Its okay..I got the words!!!!"

 So you take your chances...

The thing is, the Human League aren't just some 80s tribute band. They are a working band who never quit doing what they do.

I grew up with that music, but holy shiat, what a crappy lineup. They were B/C/D list bands even at their peak.

From the statement: I know this may be disappointing for those of you who bough tickets and were looking forward to seeing THL. We hope you will be as excited about their replacement.

Translation: "No refunds, suckers!"

2013-04-28 01:03:09 PM
From 'cutting edge' to 'mainstream' to 'oldies act'.

None of these bands were that great in the first place.

But Ultravox?????

I might have gone just to see them.

2013-04-28 01:17:56 PM
I gotta say, they've actually aged pretty well, esp Phil!

2013-04-28 01:31:42 PM
But where will I be able to go listen to the voice of Buddha now? The Lebanon?

I'm not ashamed to admit that I like Howard Jones. I still have his first 3 albums on cassette tape, and his greatest hits on CD.

Maybe another reality show will want them (baby).

Phil was rude to a-ha back in '86, saying they were "mindless".   Nearly 30 years later, he has to do mindless oldies tours and such to stay alive, while Morten, Mags and Paul have better things to do with their lives.

Karma is a good thing.

My favorite HL song: The Lebanon. Surprisingly good quality video.

They will be replaced by Up with People.

I like my bands high and screechy, not low and British.
